nah, futurama is something that Family Guy never was and the simpsons is having a hard time being and thats CONSISTANT. they are funny constantly, where as the simpsons is having a harder time in the newer seasons thanks to the age of the show, and family guy has trouble doing because sometimes it tries to hard to be edgy

The Simpsons newer seasons suck. But 6-7 years ago it was amazing. I think Family Guy is probably the funniest show out there.

nah man, too hit and miss. when its good, its hard to beat, but its not good often enough to beat futurama.

I love futurama, IMO it blows the simpsons way out of the water

i like the movie Open Waters... pretty good

i see The Simpsons as not only a effing cool show, but also a way for groening (sp?) to see how far he could push the envelope with out pissing people off so to speak

Absolutely no way. Futurama was great, but it's humor was nowhere near as razor sharp as The Simpsons. That show is a comedy masterpiece, consistently better than anything else on TV.

Futurama, Family Guy, King Of The Hill and even South Park will always be in The Simpsons shadow.

yeah, well i figure that if backfire was gonna close this thread down it would have happened by now....

and while i agree that yes the Simpsons is always going to be cartoon #1, futurama is also equaly as good, both have their own charms and both have different reasons they are good.

My problem with the Simpsons being that it is always shown out of order, there is no correlation between the episodes that are in two parts, such as 'Who shot Mr Burns' and they are repeated so many times they crush your brain into sloppy goo.

Which is why I deliberately don't watch reruns very often.

Still, that's just to do with the TV companies, it's nothing to do with the quality of the show itself.

I think Family Guy, The Simpsons, and South Park are the kings of the cartoon mountian.

i hate that the tv companys own the episodes yet refuse to play the newer episodes as repeats, only the old ones we've seen a million times

I dont watch re-runs, I own all of the seasons that have come out.
