Baka Zoro.
Oh, and congratulations Captain Coby.
God Enel was cool.
I just don't get why Oda did it this way. I mean Vergo was a legit challenge to Sanji, to the point where he might have won. Hell even Caesar inconvineiced Luffy for a bit. Why go back to one of them casually wrecking ass? Shit, Monet was able to delay the freaking Captain so why couldn't she just put Zoro in a snow hut? This doesn't make Zoro look cool it just makes everyone else look bad.

^ Too bad it's completely irrelevant considering Zoro's stupid cheapshot and Monet suddenly falling down to a despicable level of fodder because of it.
Monet stated she was no match for Zoro and Luffy from the beginning, her being pwned was foreshadowed. It seemed like a pointless defeat because she looked good against others so far, so she could've faced a more "fair" opponent, but she said she was no match for Zoro... And she wasn't.
The problem is that nobody in the crew can hurt a Logia other than the Monster three, so Oda kind of wrote himself into a corner, Tashigi seemed like a good solution but to keep Monet as a legit threat she had to best poor Tashigi.
Apparently the theme was having Smoker and Tashigi face real opponents for the first time ever, Smoker vs Vergo and Monet vs Tashigi is a first for them. Everybody and their mother knows that Tashigi and Smoker are fodder against the SHs.

The Haki thing seems to have split the crew up further.
Monet seemed to be having little problem with multiple other Strawhats, after all.

Luffy has to date never beaten Smoker IIRC.
He did have the Lugia intangibility thing going on for him back then, right now logias are getting schooled left and right.

Yep, the fact that Monet managed to trash even Robin seemed to make her enough of a threat, but then she gets defeated by a few Haki slashes from Tashigi, who is less than Robin in almost every conceivable way.
I kind of hope Monet faces Nami/Ussop later and gets beaten by weakness exploitation. Weaknesses make for funnier battles imo.
Having Haki doesn't make Tashigi better than Robin. It's simply something she trained in while Robin worked on expanding her DF powers.
But this fight still sucked, both in terms of action and how it basically tarnishes Monet and Tashigi. I mean Smoker and Vergo get some awesome treatment, why don't the ladies?
I don't think the justification that Monet admitted that she was no match for Luffy or Zoro holds much water because... why couldn't she be? Oda could have just as easily written Monet to be a credible threat to Zoro rather than splerging his strength on the page. He didn't need to be that overpowering.
That's the odd thing though. Sanji has fought someone challenging and so has Luffy(Caesar is more cheap than out and out tough but whatever) so why does Zoro get to remain this untouchable badass that can beat Monet as if she were some no name? Unless he is implying that Zoro is stronger than Luffy.
Edit: Every time we cut back to it Smoker is handing Vergo his ass so I consider that awesome treatment in comparison to Tashigi at least. And no, this is not a win for Tashigi.
Isn't that really all it comes down to?
You like her, and are disgruntled with the fact that she is fodder.
Were you expecting her to do better than Caesar against a member of the Monster Trio?
Oh yeah? What exploration has she gotten? You may not recall this, but Robin joining the crew and turning out to be anything but a side character was considered a big shock at the time those chapters were fresh.
Monet is an endearing villain, but don't pretend that she has gotten some incredible amount of screentime or character development. The most we learned is that she is a ***** who acts nice to the children but is really a *****.
This is less than, say, Ryuuma got, who was trashed by Zoro.
