Yea, seriously, what the heck happened to Usopp? I don't like this character.

Even when he ran in the past, his internal monolog was just scared rather than this.

I'm more pissed off that his character ran away in THIS chapter which was almost perfect.

Seriously this was a fun chapter. But the ending was terrible. Usopp could march right up to Doflamingo and shoot him in his face and I would still not care about him.

It's like.... in comics, there's this thing called 'Hank Pym' syndrome. Where a character has a famous story, and later ones just revisit it and repeat it endlessly. Martian Manhunter has learned how to overcome his weakness to fire several times over, for example.

Usopp learning to be brave was great. Usopp learning to be brave again smacks of spinning wheels on the character.

At least comics have several different writers and a much longer run time in the grand scheme of things.

Usopp abandoned people who needed him. That is horribly unlikable for a hero. And you know he'll for whatever reason take out Sugar and we'll be asked to admire him for getting over his cowardice. Not doing it Oda.

I guess that was Oda trying to have a funny scene of something.

But other than that this did seem like one of the more interesting chapters even though I can't say that I care for this arc.

Yeah, this arc is finally shaping up, but Robin did go down like a chump.

Who is Robin?

You know looking around the internet, a ton of people have different ideas about Robin's nationality. Isn't she obviously Native American though?

Actually no-one really agrees on any of the characters nationality.

Didn't Oda gave their nationalities in one of his little commentaries at the end of a book?

He said she was Russian, which was either a joke or it means Oda has never seen a Russian in his life.

I find it funny that all the SH will get annoyed when they are called heroes and they insist on them being pirates.

Yeah, Ussop coming back in no way makes up for his behaviour. Oda dropped the ball on this.

Umm...guys help me out here was I supposed to care about Ussop coming back? Because I don't.

Along with this, I'm guessing this Kyros dude had himself turned into a toy. Oh boy.

Well the good characters care so you should too!

Kyros turning himself into a toy? Might explain why he doesn't have the contract at least. Still doesn't endear Kyros to me as a character since he is a whiny ponce.

At least with Luffy it makes sense because he is kinda dumb. I guess Usopp is aware of his cowardice and decided he wasn't worth being called a hero but that is a stretch.

I call bs on the Ussop hate, frigging Hector in the Illiad ran like a pussy before getting killed by Achilles and he's still a well remembered heroic figure. The fact that you people seem to want entirely fearless heroes who disregard their own death is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Oda is too much of a competent writer for you to appreciate this, apparently.
