Use the Unlock easy lock spell on a "hard locked" chest for an hour ๐Ÿ˜

WTF is telekenesis for?! It's fun and all but what the is it for !?

Isn't it for moving crap around?

Telekinesis - I think maybe u can use it when stealing, say u have found a good spot, however u cant leave it without being spotted. U just use telekinesis to draw the thingie towards u and then steal it. Dunno if this work or not.

Magic skills - there exist some few spells for each school that don't require skill of 25, however it took me 36 lvls before I found a Mysticism spell that I could use to lvl to 25.

Is there any way to throw things with telekinesis?

i have all achievements ๐Ÿ™‚

ROFL ME TOO

Hey all. Just got Oblivion today. ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm installing a bunch of Mods first, then starting, so my day has consisted of downloading rather than playing. I figure if the mods conflict with each other at all, I haven't played it yet so I won't lose a lot of gameplay time. I can always uninstall it and try again if anything goes terribly haywire.

Mostly small-time tweaks with the mods, but I do have 1 large one that involves monster-scaling so that the game's enemies aren't always at the same level as my character (some stay low and other start high, so it makes the game more random and a touch harder, but also more realistic...and it'll hopefully provide more of a sense of accomplishment for leveling up). No doubt most of you are familiar with quite a few Mods, so this is probably old news.

And I haven't read most of the 34 pages of this thread, but hopefully I can start contributing once I get going with the actual game.

And I was a dork and got the collector's edition. Which includes a making of, an Uriel Septum coin, and an extended world-packet that describes a bunch of features (It's like a Hitchhiker's Guide to Cyrrodil...lol). All relatively useless, but this is my only major gaming purchase in a while (I'm not counting Fable last Christmas...that was just to sate me until Oblivion).

๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I got the Collectors, and I havent even looked at the second disc or extra booklets and crap ๐Ÿ˜‚

Join the Dark Brotherhood as soon as you can ๐Ÿ˜„ That guild is amazingly fun. You have to kill an innocent NPC, and it'll show a message saying 'Your crime has been observed by unknown forces' or something like that, then sleep at an Inn and you'll get contacted by the leader. Definitely my favourite guild.

Ill throw in the petshop mod if you havent got it, it adds a bit of fun when you're wandering in the wild by yourself, you have to go to Cheydinhal to buy yourself a pet.

I've got 3 characters and I've only done the first official quest with one of them, and I already feel like making a new one noww00t I might make a pirate character, that'd be fun to play...wish they'd make a Jack Sparrow skin, that'd be freakin' sweet...bah, enough ranting, have fun, its an awesome game ๐Ÿ™‚

I got the collectors edition too..but for 360. Hey Digi have fun...you might get addictive. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks guys. And yeah, the petshop was one of the ones I downloaded. But thanks anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

But.

Unfortunately, my video card sucks. I have an Nvidia Geforce FX 5200, which, in theory, should be enough for it to run on the lower graphics settings....and my PC is more than adequate. But even with the graphics settings all the way down, and even some graphics tweaks to improve performance that I learned from a recent PC Gamer magazine, it's running slow as balls.

Thus, it may be time to shell out my post-birthday money (i.e. not much) for a better card. And in the meantime, just attempting to create a character and walk around the very first dungeon cell is frustrating like you wouldn't believe. So I'll have to putthe gaming on hold.

๐Ÿ™

Thats my problem, except mine runs respectably sometimes. Turned all the decals off?

Decals? Not sure.

But the in game graphics options are scaled all the way down, I have it running on a window rather than full-screen, and I also tweaked some random stuff in the code such as the fade limits for grass/water and the maximum # of shadows allowable on screen to optimize performance.

It's not noticably better, so I've given up hope at this point...I'll probably go graphics-card shopping later this week.

I love my cpu, and cpu gaming. But this is the only thing that sucks sometimes about it. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

But if you think the decal thing could help, I'd love to hear about it. And thanks.

This sounds promising...and I've heard nothing but stellar praise from everyone about it. Generally, I'm a good guy in RPGs (I usually end up using heal spells as a crutch in many rpg games, and a lot of times that becomes harder if you're evil...thus, unless it doesn't matter in a particular game, that usually ends up influencing my alignment). But the Brotherhood sounds promising, and I'm generally wary as hell of being a strict magic-user in rpgs, so I'll have to try it at some point.

I want to be a bard too...even though I don't really know what all that entails. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

And fun stuff like the petshop will rock too. I also downloaded an uber-mansion place for once I get enough cash to buy it, and some other random fun things to tool around with when I get bored with the regular game.

...now...the video card. ๐Ÿ˜

...madly trying to avoid buying a vedo card...I'll most likely fail, but I did some more code-tweaking and downloaded a mod that takes a layer or two off of textures (it's barely noticable) to get framerate up.

...well, after a bunch of graphics tweaks, it's finally running. Here's a screenshot of my game .

... ๐Ÿ˜

Nah, it's running but it's still far from smooth. New video card it is, because occasionally it feels like it's ok, but most of the time I feel like my character is walking through molasses and the terrain goes grey at about 20 feet from my scaling down of the graphics.

*cries*

Decals are just the blood options and crap on the video settings.
I think I need a new graphics card too. Shame about the absolute lack of funding.

Meh, I'll figure something out. Decent 512MB cards are available on Ebay (new) for about $130, give or take depending on shipping and such. And my current one I think is 128MB, so it'll be a considerable upgrade. And that kind of purchase will suck, but I won't be dead broke, and Oblivion is (hopefully) worth it.

I have a 512 but it takes 256mb of that from your system RAM.. I'd watch our for that when you buy a new card, unless you have a good amount of RAM.

Hmm. My cpu has 512. I'll have to see if it'll be a problem. Thanks for the heads-up though. ๐Ÿ™‚
