usually theres a secret door you can go out through at the end of a quest cave that saves you walking through it again. but man, if you dont like dungeons then you're playing the wrong type of game. thats half the fun.
but that mission man, you have to play them both. side with the chick most of the way until she tells you about the mountain or whatever and then go steal her book and give it to the mage guy.
the book doesnt contain a spell, the chick gives you a location to go to and that spot gives you a spell. then you steal it back from the girls hotel room and give it to the mages guild guy to get the recommendation. you need a welkynd stone im pretty sure to get the spell from the spot she tells you about.

Maybe another whole different mission.
Either way, I'll just have to find out once I finally do the mission that I'm referring to.

Okey, look what happens. The spell is called "Finger of The Hill" I think. I don't really remember the whole quest because I did it a long time ago, but you get to either help the woman or just quickly help the Mages Guild guy. If you help the woman, she gives you a location which is on a hill, when you get there, there will be a pedestal in which you must press your "use" key and you will get the spell. I don't think it does damage, it hexes your opponent and drains his stats thought. Then, you have to come back and sneak into the woman's sleeping place and steal the book. Then give it to the Mages guy and you will get the recommendation.
I remember I had a pain in the butt to complete the Mages Guild completely, well atleast now I'm top rank in all the guilds.

So it's best I just give it to the women then since the ending result is the same no matter who I give it to, I'll just end up with an extra spell. Can't hurt.
Is the spell worth it though in your opinion?
So far, the Mages Guild recommendation requirements haven't been all that bad.
I don't like how you can only accept fighter guild quests from certain people, like 2 I think, instead of every fighter's guild leader in each town like the Mages Guild does.
It's been a while since I've played so I know I've forgotten exactly which city the other Fighter's Guild guy is where I'm suppose to accept another quest.

I don't know how I could have MISSED it though when I really haven't experienced it that much yet to KNOW it in the first place.
As far as I know, I was told that I only can accept mission from 2 Fighters Guild Members in 2 different cities.
So I've moved on to a new city, but I still can't accept a new mission from the new FIghters' Guild that I've come upon b/c it's not the city that the certain guy/woman is in.
So far, with the Mages Guild, I just go to the mage in that city and accept the mission.

Well, I don't know. Depends what level you are. If you're above lvl 20 then you should get it, if not than the spell you will get will be extremly weak.
Theres a stupid rewards system in Oblivion where if your below lvl 20 and complete a quest you get a much weaker item or spell then you would if you were above lvl 20.

Can't remember what level I'm at now, but there's a good chance I'm past 20.
Thanks for the info.
