I KNEW IT. I warned you all, i said Van Helsing was gonna be crap and i saw it today and it was totally crap. Just like the mummy all it was, was cheesy acting, crappy CGI which looked crap, and cheesy comedy just like the mummy.

just small quotes like "when do i get one of those" its like, by the way hugh jackman that was the most unfunny thing you've ever said. Atleast you could laugh at Brendon Fraiser in the mummy, then again seeing that woman makes me tingly.

But i told you it would be crap and it is crap. They even had the nerve to put, "a film by by john summers" or whatever his name is at the end of the trailer.

i dont understand why most of you are bashing this movie. It maynot be Oscar caliber but is most certainly fun to watch.

Well, I just saw this film and thought it was an interesting postmodern action film, with overdone CGI, irreverent appropriation of hollywood monster icons, and stiff acting; in short, a satire on action films not to be taken seriously.
It was the "Kill Bill" of horror films, characatured, mannered, and with tongue firmly in cheek. What I like about it was they never, ever, tipped their hand; it played itself out earnestly as if it was penned by a precocious nine year old who believed this would be believable. Of course if was all tripe, and shame on you for not getting it.
But then I don't have a life and have to read into everything levels of meaning that may not necessarily exist.

O my goodness! Don't you people see that this movie is supposed to be tounge-in-cheek? Every part of it is a cliche. Anyone heard of Mel Brooks? He is the KING of tounge-in-cheek movies. Either you like them or you don't.

I loved it. I laughed through the whole thing.

I laffed my ass off through the whole film, I was ejected from the cinema about 4 minutes from the end, it wasnt the fact that is was funny, but i did this with dawn of the dead aswell. an Helsing was funny mainly coz it was so comic book (the expression comic book means predicatable in film, text-book is the same but with everything for those youngsters to the film industry) and hugh jackman was just not made to be van helsing. Hes supposed to be tough and (according to women) really sexy. Not a grubby dirty old perv who kills vampires and other creatures?

Plus why the hell was frankinstein in it?
