Can anyone sympathize with Bush for 1 second to maybe recognize why he felt not so at ease with Saddam.
Iraq asked for help to remove Saddam, over and over and over and over. Bush got to office, 9/11 happens, he goes through Afganistan mind you in less than 4 months. Tells Saddam he needs to behave and allow inspectors to do their job, and he goes to war with Saddam and in less than 8 months the dictator is held alive in a prison.
How does a country do that? Do the people in Iraq want change. You bet they had to for US forces to go through without much major battle.
Lives lost? Yes, soilder's lives. No where near the number in any war in history.
The insurgence is there because of a power void, yes it is inherent. "Better Saddam fill that void than there to be a void" I'd rather there would be some patience on the side of the US and see the ending of the story before we write down intentions.
I don't want to discuss the war much, but I will say this: Thanks to Bush in 2002, we HAD to go to war. He was building up our troops in the Gulf for months. It was costing millions of dollars to keep them there doing nothing. If we pulled out, it would have boosted Saddam's ego. So, there was little choice but to go to war. It's kinda sad, actually.
I hope Ohio suffers from 2004-8. Hopefully they'll learn their lesson.

Thanks. Lessons? We are all in need of pain. I got my gun. I hope Bin Laden has guts enough to come here himself. Love to show him what a 12 guage does within 10 feet.

That was just ignorant. I'd like to take this time to remind the peoples of the world that not all Americans, a lot, but not all are prone to ignorant ramblings like this guy.
This Euro nonsense and oil is baffling. Americans are not gaining from war. It isn't even war that raises the gas price (actually is supposed to lower the price), it is the business reaction to supply/demand. The president has very little to say on the oil price. Oh yeah, dig in Alaska. But then you get whiners. America is great.
It isn't so much live by the gun, die by the gun as if it comes down to someone is going to kill me. I'm taking him out. I'm not dying.
Thanks for being openminded.
American companies like Haliburton and anyone with a defense contract is making a killing coot. And oh yeah, all those who own those companies know Bush.
And the Iraq going to the euro is not baffling, it's fact. It was an excellent way to strengthen ties with europe while flipping the bird at the states and weakening their economy.

Thanks for reading it in context. I was being sarcastic to the fact that a post refered to a need for OHIO to go through pain because they voted Bush. I AM sarcastic. Glad you are open to my sarcasm and it rides like a fly through space to your understanding.

I was talking about that stuff about bin laden, where you were talking out your ass...
Wow, the fluid thinker is starting to not be so open and accepting of other's viewpoints. There was no irony in your statement so the sarcasm was lost on many here coots including me.
Although sarcasm is mainly intended to make others the butt of your joke, when expressed in written form sarcasm should contain irony so as to expose the intent of the statement as opposed to leave it up to interpretation.

Now you understand something incorrectly. I personally don't care about the Euro. Or if Iraq has it. Bush would care about weakening the American Economy because he has voters telling him to strengthen the US economy.
I was told that it was irresponsible to lend an Unstable man weapons. So he has weapons now. And then they will get the Euro. Who wants to do this because? You see how anyway you run this there is a problem.
I say Saddam goes, there is a problem gone. Cost... always a cost. Nothing comes free.
Some people just hate 50% of Americans.
