First teaser trailer!

I'm still getting used to the 2:30 length, after watching the 5-minute comic con trailer over and over and getting its rhythm. But now we see more finished shots - more of the Destroyer, more of Thor crushing Frost Giants and buildings with mjolnir - love seeing the hammer fly back to his hand! 👆

Thanks for the HD downloads!
This isn't like most teaser trailers, which usually are lighter on dialogue and more visual, to give you a feeling for the film. This reminds me of the marketing for 300, with how they packed the first trailer.
If they follow Iron Man's pattern, then the 2nd trailer will arrive in March, with more revelations.

Casual fans should understand - Thor & the Asgardians aren't aliens. They dwell in a dimension next to ours (like Narnia), and our plane of existence connects to theirs through the great world tree, Yggdrasil.
They conceive of Earth(Midgard)as being one of the nine worlds of existence. You can see in the trailer when Thor gets banished by Odin - it looks like he is falling through the roots of Yggdrasil down to Earth (in the comic con trailer, the unfinished shot looked like a simple wormhole.) All of which will get explained in the movie.
If anyone's been watching the cartoon Avengers series, you get an idea how Captain America will connect to this. The Red Skull will be hunting down mystical items in Scandinavia - places built to give worship to the Gods of Asgard - where they may be weak dimensional gateways.

I would argue that they are aliens, just not of extraterrestrial variety.

That's fine with me. It's those casual fans who are going ape on some boards, thinking they're turned them all into a bunch of E.T.s. They're Extradimensional, not Extraterrestrial. And they may define themselves as Gods, but it's not absolute; Odin & the rest are aware of other abstract beings in the universe. Some even more powerful than them.

trailer looked good. this movie has promise, they are under a great deal of pressure casue if it's not done right then the avengers and captain america could suffer.
Avengers photography will have nearly wrapped by the time this opens. So yes, they are as locked in on these three movies as Peter Jackson was for The Lord Of The Rings. So they better have it right.

Damn, I love that!

Iron Man 2 was less successfull than Iron Man, even with higher ticket prices. His mystique is going down. The point was that even a bad Superman movie can make 200 million is impressive considering a good Iron Man movie can make 300.Even Wolverine and Hulk movies failed to top Superman Returns.
Yeah, that isn't true. I know you Americans love to pretend you are the only place in the world but you aren't. Iron Man 2 made slightly less domestically then the first, but more world wide. On the whole it made more money that the first Iron Man. And on the topic of higher movie prices I can tell you with certainty that I have paid exactly 9 dollars for an adult movie tick since 2006 (12 if I go to the AMC).
Even Batman Begins failed to top Superman Returns. 😎

The only price hike in the last two years has been tickets for 3D showings. Prices have been fairly stable.
And it's not a true comparison between Batman Begins and Superman Returns. The worldwide take for both films was almost the same, but BB cost between $50-100 million less than SR to produce, so it was more profitable. It also had to eliminate the stench still hanging from 1997's Batman & Robin - while the smell from 1987's Superman IV was ten years older. BB was a successful reboot, while the head of Warner Bros. openly said SR underperformed to their expectations (they expected at least $500 million worldwide, instead of $400 million); which is why ANOTHER reboot is coming.
After watching the trailer I have this to say...WOW!
But it's sad how the movie Thor looks to be faaaarrrrr more impressive than this current comic Thor. In fact the way Asgard is depicted in this movie is right in line with how King Kirby first wrote them to be, an advanced and powerfull race of beings, and not how they're wriiten today, a bunch of strong barbarians.

Hawkeye in Thor?http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/112961-hawkeye-to-appear-in-thor
We'll see. There was talk of both Hawkeye & Scarlet Witch appearing in Iron Man 2, but in the end Jon Favreau reshot some scenes & Olivia Munn just appeared as an entertainment reporter.
