Is there too much Violence on tv these days?

There are some parents who don't let there kids watch shows like "Power Rangers" or even some shows on Cartoon network like that Eddy show.
Do you think these parents are overreacting over nothering are they right?
Please share your thoughts on this!JM 😕 🙄

is there too much violence in the world and shown on the news?
that's what needs to be tackled first: get peace and then go on about tv-series/shows/whatever

what should they show? a fluffy world with worldpeace? you just need to get out on the street to see that's not the case

How about this:

There are too many pathetic parents who don't give a rat's ass what their kids watch.

Attention: Grow up and be a parent!

Grandad? Is that you??

there are plenty of violent cartoon shown on the kid network such as cartoon network and childrens channel, there a load of good old"happy" cartoons my daughter can watch though.
For the rest I dont watch tv too much so I aint updated on whats really on, I just watch the football games, musical programs and documentaries.

Yes it is me!I came back from the dead to speak to you!JK!I don't think I want to be a parent.Specially raising teenagers! That is going to be loads of fun.
You are right about there being violence on the news.We should have a peacefull country but I can't see that ever happening. But anyway back to the parents.
I think they are overreating some shows might be stupid to you but if your kids know the difference between make believe and real life then they are fine.
If not then yu have a promblem!and I could understand not leting your kids watch some of those tv shows.JM

if your kids know the difference between make believe and real life then they are fine.
kids dont know the diffrence

I dont know why everything in this world has to be sanitized to agree with 7 year olds. 🙄

Use the V chip! nerd

The media, T.V., movies and video games hve gotten much more violent than in the past. And you know who buys and pays for most of it? Parents. Parents buy these video games for their kids or pay for the movies or cable t.v. If the demand is there, people will make it.

Perhaps parents should get a fricken clue as to what their children are doing and watching and stop blaming everyone else for their complete lack of parental ability.

Just a thought.

So, I've been collecting some old serials. Captain Marvel gunning down fleeing arabs, people being dropped into spike-lined pits, people being crushed in avalanches, people being tortured in spike-lined cages, people being gassed to death, a fist-fight in every episode . . . remind me again when movies and television weren't violent?

I'm not saying that movies in general haven't gotten more violent, but I'd say that Power Rangers is no more violent than, say, the Phantom serial was.

violence on tv isnt a problem as long as it isnt in programs specifically targetting kids. cartoon network has a more adult audience. its when the tweenies start beating each other up that parents need to start worrying.

no

There should be more violence on TV. 👆

Reality TV just sucks big time. 👇

I like violent movies.

winddancer i totally agree with u on both statements

Exactly. There was a hostage situation in California yesterday. The news has been reporting about it since then. The gunman was shot in the head, and this morning when they were reporting it, they just showed the same five second clip of the guy getting his head blown off over and over and over again.
