*Beast Boy flew low to the ground and changed into a cougar, following Kel closely but out of sight. He stopped and took a sniff of the area. It smelled like rotting corpses and old candle wax. He must be near a cathedral. He continued to follow Kel silently through some trees. He needed information on who killed Tom and why.* "I swear..I will find who killed Tom, and bring them to justice!" *Beast Boy said to himself.*
Sam appeared at Beast Boy's right suddenly. "It's okay Beast Boy, you can trust him... He was one of Tom's friends as well." Sam said before he faded away again.

*Beast Boy walked out and changed back to his human form.* Good. I thought I was alone with this mystery. *He walked up to Kel and asked* So, why are we here? Why near a cathedral? It's most likely abandoned by now, so it has nothing of use to us.
Sam appeared next to Beast Boy again. "Be careful... you never know when a trap has been set until you walk right into it." Sam warned before he faded and reappeared at Beast Boy's left. "Remember to keep your guard up... be ready to face anything." Sam said as he faded again.

The cloaked figures began to swarm around Beast Boy, shaking his hand and patting him on the back. "Don't let this act fool you... Tom let his guard down and they clouded his mind with darkness." Sam's voice said from nowhere. The people around Beast Boy didn't seem to notice. "They pretend to be your friend then they destroy you from the inside... it is how you become one of them." Sam voice echoed as a pretty young woman stepped in front of Beast Boy. "She used to be a lot like you, a hero, a kind hearted crime fighter... but when the tall man found her he turned her into something else... something cruel." Sam voice said as he gave Beast Boy a glimpse at who the girl used to be. She used to be Sentient, a hero who used her profound intelligence and perfect physique to fight crime, but now she was a nameless member of this strange cult.
