From my post in the "war in iraq" thread yesterday
"I'm rarely proud of the actions of any government - they are by nature beasts made up of compromise and I'm not fond of compromises. In this instance I'm disgusted at my governments culpability and dismayed that my own vote helped put them in power. It makes me partly responsible for every death, and I find that hard to forget."
PVS: Yes, we are responsible. If we come under terrorist attack although i will condemn the actions i wouldnt say it was unexpected or unprovoced

As selfish as this sounds, i'm jealous of you. I've never been more ashamed of the way i voted in my life - I'd rather wipe my arse on my ballot paper than feel this way again.
You shouldnt be ashamed of your vote. If you voted for bush the first time round, then its nothing to be ahsamed of, you werent aware he was going to invade Iraq. You werent aware he was going to reject the Kyoto agreement. If you did it the second time, well..never change your horse halfway through the river.
I would much rather be able to vote. To be able have some say in the way my country, which i love, is going to be run. To have some say in how my and my fellow Brittish citizens are going to be viewed by the world.

i simply stated the the majority of iraqis are shiite muslems, who fall under the influence of iran. that is why the u.s. backed out of the shiite uprising in 91, because they did not want THEM to take over the country.
which is stupid, because they are the majority...who did they expect to overthrow saddam hussein?anyway, if the u.s. were to all of the sudden back out, you can bet your ass that iran will move right in, with little to no resistance. thus my qoute from dubya of how iranian forces would be 'welcome as liberators'.
its a scenario many iraqis would welcome.and there lies the problem, the big can of worms which the bush administration has opened. without the u.s. in iraq, there WILL be a new superpower. and it wont stop at iraq either. as evil a bastard as hussein was, he kept middle east powers in check. now, without the u.s., there would be a massive power vaccume which will be easily and redily filled by its eastern neighbor.

You didnt state Iraqis felt the need to be protected, you're right - you said that US is going to ''protect them'' regardless of what they want.

I cant even begin to comment on how utterly ridiculous that quote is. Its one contradiction after the other. Iraq had nothing - those people have nothing to eat let alone any kind of ''superpower'' shite you preach. They dont have have and never had any weapons - Bush is there because of oil.
