"I said we didn't have oceans in Minnesota, not pools. Of course I know how to swim." He replied with a grin.

Mike blushed hard, but didn't want her to feel to bad. "Well, what most people in the states don't know is most of the guys over there love US girls. Like you, most of my mates back home would kill just to say hi to you. Most girls over there are like that Ashley chick. So yeah, someone like you is a rare find."

Janette laughed. "Ah, I think I should move to Australia or somewhere over there." she said blushing. She didn't want to sound stereotypical.

Alexis shrugged. "Fine with me." she said. She stopped when she found a spot she liked. She sat a little bit behind the middle of the board and let him get on. "This should be a new experience."

Chris got on...Straddling the board. 'Easy so far' he said to himself.

Alexis laughed. She waited for what she thought would be a good wave then started paddling. She admitted it was hard since there were two people on the board. Finally she stood and told Chris to do the same.

Chris stood up and wobbled a little he then bent his knees.

"It's just like a really big snowboard! This is easy...As long as we don't turn!"

Alexis laughed. "Shouldn't have said that." she said smirking. she turned the board causing Chris to wobble even more. She knew he wouldn't fall.

Chris jumped off and grabbed Alexis as he went.

While tredding water he grinned and said, "Told you not to turn."

Alexis came up for air. "You fox. You shouldn't have done that." she dove underwater and grabbed Chris's ankles dragging him under with her.

Chris took a big gulp of air just before going under.

When they came back up he was laughing hysterically. "That's your wave. It's all I owe you right?"

He splashed her with water.

Alexis took a deep breath and dove before coming back up. "As far as I know. Why? Do you want to owe me something?"

"Dinner tonight? Payment for the lesson you could call it."

Alexis arched an eyerow. She wondered what trick this was. "Okay." she replied slowly. She glanced towards Val who again was surrounded by girls. She shook her head. "This isn't a trick, right?"

"A trick? Why would it be? If I would invite your brother would it make you feel better?"

(I honestly don't see what girls think is attractive about that kid that plays Val...He has a friggin huge gap in his teeth and is...Just ugly.)

Alexis shook her head. "Would make me feel even more uneasy." she said. "So, um, do I need to like wear anything special or something ecause if it's a fancy restaraunt I should warn you I used to be banned from quite a few. couldn't resist a good skate." she said laughing.

"I think I could get you into pretty much any restaraunt...Don't worry about it. Wherever you want to go...You know this town and the eateries better than I do. You're choice and time. Just call me at...Ehrm...I've got paper in my jeans pocket...And we'll talk about it. I'm going to go now."

Chris swims back to shore to get the paper and pen out of his pocket and write down his number. He then put it in her shoe and left.

Alexis watched him leave. Val got up and swam through the ocean to her. "What was that about?" he asked. "Boyfriends already." he teased.

Alexis was shocked. "No!" she exclaimed.

"Well, I'd love to stay out here. But I haven't been home in a few days, and mom likes me to check in every 2 or 3 days. So we're gonna have to ride this next one in." Catching a wave, mike surfs it in, and walks up on the beach. He shakes his head dry as he waits for Janette, letting his wavy hair hang loose in his face.

Chris got home, pulled into the garage and got out.

The phone rang so he ran over to answer it.

Hello?

Oh, hey! How's it going?

How you lookin this year?

Oh, sweet...O'Neil was turning it on at the end of last year...I'm glad for him.

Me? Oh fine...Did a little workout today, nothing major, a few herbies.

Yep, tomarrow I'll skate with a puck some. Showoff some maybe...Some little warmup tricks.

Think with some work, we could beat you guys! After all, I am on this team!

Chris' mom yelled in, "Who was that?"

"Ah, just Coach Peterson! Hey, I'm goin out later...Just to let you know."

His mom yelled back, "Oh that was nice of him to call!"

She walked into the room. "You're soaked! You didn't drive home like that?!"

"Yeah, I did. I cleaned off the seat after though."

"Well, alright..."

Janette walks onto the each she rings out her hair and smiles at Mike. "Perfectly understandable."

Alexis arrives at home Val following right after her.

Val chuckles as Jamie notices their soakedness. "Good, to see someone is carrying on the legacy." he says messing up Alexis's hair. It was ovious he has and still is a surfer.

Alexis smiled as she and Val went up to their rooms.
