Its just me... i could never hit a woman... i'd be afraid of hurting you... i am bigger than you (and i'll bet stronger)

No... but thats just me... but what happens if there are 21 other guys like me? Do they all have to hold back?

first off no, just no.girls should not be allowed in reality to try out for mens teams, im sorry. for hypothetical argument, yes they should, but in real life, no they should not.
second, dont use the giving birth argument, its probably the stupidest and most overused argument for "pain threshold" ive ever heard of. there's a difference between giving birth (which female body's are MADE to do) and getting your spine broken by a 300 lb man running at full speed with the soul purpose of hurting you as much as possible. im sorry, women CANNOT do this as effectively as men, womens body's are more fragile by far then mens are, its fact.
next, men are stronger then women in general. (most all the time in real life) that is also fact. its biology, men are MADE to be stronger then women. its just the way it is.
now you say that taking it easy on girls is stupid? did you read my post? because i plainly said that I CANNOT EVER BRING MYSELF TO HARM A GIRL. i just cant do it, sport or not. i cant do it, and i never would. and im sure lots of men feel the same way. it might be stupid, but its the truth. men hit a psychological barrier when it comes to things like this, because its true. men (in general) are not inclined to hurt, or try to hurt women. and since this is true it would lead to hesitation in sport. it MIGHT be stupid, but its also fact.
second, ballet and football are not comparable. (insert 300 lb man trying to kill you argument here) they are not the same.
I'm only going to address two things, because they're the only things I feel need addressing.
1) Since when was the point of football to try to kill the opposing team? Maybe I missed something here. *shrug* Idunno, I wasn't really paying all that much attention to begin with.
2) Guys having an aversion to hitting/tackling/playing rough with girls being a fact has no bearing on whether or not it is, in fact, stupid. When I said that, I was ranting anyway. But the point is this: I want to be treated as an equal. If I see you giving your all when it comes to male team members, I'd expect to be treated exactly the same way. It just pisses me off that a girl being on the same team as guys would cause some players to half-ass it. Like I said, go all in, or don't go at all.
Oh, and a quick sidenote: I was, for the most part, being a jackass on purpose. I noted several times that I was being an idiot and quite possibly a jackass. It was meant to be amusing in an insulting way. Maybe that's just my freakish sense of humor, whatever. I'm sorry if you didn't get that. But, these are my opinions. I see what you're saying about strength difference between men and women, but I think that's all we'll agree on. So, there it is. Take it or leave it.
Originally posted by pr1983But it's like women can't play because men have hang ups about hurting them, obviously a woman who plays football will know the risk she's taking so that should be taken into account, I'm around 5'5 and one shove from my brother send me flying across the room, I know I'm not as big or strong as most men but that doesn't mean I couldn't hold my own...so I think men like you should consider the woman takes a calculated risk by playing with men...
No... but thats just me... but what happens if there are 21 other guys like me? Do they all have to hold back?
Maybe it's a case of pride for some people...guys always got very mad if me or the other girl in the team got the ball of them, "b!tch" was the favourite insult then 😉

If I had to play football with women, I'd be at a disadvantage. I would not want to hurt them. It's just the way I am. And I bet you that if some girl decides to play football, and gets hurt incredibly bad by another person, that said person who tackled her will be called a woman beater.
It's a contact sport. You expect to get hit. If a girl gets hit and injured in a contact sport that she signed up for knowing the consequences, and then complains about it, she is stupid. And the person who hit her was just doing what they were supposed to be doing.
then again, maybe I'm oversimplifying things. -_-

Yes, but even if she's able... what happens when some guy goes in and injures her? He'd be branded a woman beater (as was said before).
Its not a matter of pride, and if its u in particular its a fear of me hurting a friend...

O'm not saying she complains, I'm talknig about all the other people. Parents, Media, etc. will be breathing down the place it happened's back. It will ruin the sport if we get more controversy than we already have.

If it's me in particular I wouldn't expect holding back, I would use all the advantages I have...😛

But i dunno... i was brought up to never hit a woman... and i dont look favourably on any man who would...
i guess im just over chivalrous... 😬

No such thing...chivalry is always a good thing ✅

In that case, I can see how it might be a problem. But if she's not the one complaining, then that's just everyone else blowing it out of proportion. Anyway, ya know what they say, "any publicity is good publicity". Though, I guess that's just famous people, eh?
I do see where you're coming from though. All I can do is speak for myself, and I would have to say those people would be idiots. *shrug* Sorry, dude.

chivalry is what would stop me from going 100% into a tackle on any woman, even if she is bigger than me...
and football is not overrated... not all of it...

Yup, this pulbicity would make the sport like the award shows after the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction.
I agree, the people would be complete idiots, but they would do that. It's just how the press is and it's how people are. Whenever they see a opportunity to make a story, they do. In this case, it would be a story that wouild ruin a game that is already on the brink of being ruined.

I'm still laughing at the whole Janet Jackson thing, btw. It's like they accidentally show three seconds of boob on tv, and suddenly everybody's all indignant. Like it's something they haven't seen before. "It's.... *gasp* A BOOBY! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!"
Just wondering ('cause I don't pay much attention to football) what's ruining it now?

It's a sport that's been degrading for along time. THe players are getting too ahead of themselves and instead of seeing tams play, you see a few stars play and that's all. Not very exciting if you ask me. And they fined Randy Moss for mooning the fams even though the Packer fans moon the losing everyone f*cking time they leave.
Yeah, I guess that would suck. -_-;; I actually used to like watching football with my dad, but I can't stand it anymore. I've been around way too many people (my dad excluded) who were competative to the point of violent outbursts. Turned me off the whole game. I'm sorry it's sucking so much, though.
All I have to say is that I completely agree with Link and Finti. In the real world, extremely few women will be able to compete against men in most sports. If you watch different sports, men almost ALWAYS jump higher/longer, run faster etc...
That's why we need the separation, to prevent the women from totally disappearing from the professional sports arena.
And on a side note...the Norwegian female soccer team, who won the world championship some years ago, lost a game against a small, local male team in Norway. Watching female sports is generally either funny or boring.
