If you could refrain from using those terms in MDF, I'd gladly appreciate it.

Sure, I'll be happy to refrain from saying 'penis' and 'foreskin' just as soon as you delete quotes referring to killing every 'mother-****er in the room', pissing blood, and shitting down people's necks.

You ridiculous hypocrite.

It's different When I'm Quoting something a fictional character said. It's not Like I'm using it in context for a written correspondence. That's a completely different story. If I quoted someone saying "I smoke weed" and I told you not to do so, I would NOT be a hypocrite. It's the same situation, so Don't label me as one. Case closed.

What a load of bullshit!

You are reprimanding me for 'graphic' language, while quoting 3 examples of graphic language in your profile, which also happen to contain words that are censored at this forum!

In case you don't understand: You are doing the very thing that you are telling me not to do! This is known as hypocrisy.

As I said before, the case can be closed by you either making an apology, or deleting your 'graphic' quotes.

For the Record, I deleted the quotes yesterday. And It is not a load of Bullshit. No one will ever get in trouble for quoting something graphic that someone else said from a film. I kid you not.

If you would like to continue the conversation, do it via PM. and if you continue to do it in this thread, I simply won't continue.

They look like a penis coming out of a foreskin. With teeth. So, I guess you could call them 'Teethed Foreskin-Penis Worms'. Whether that is their real name; I know not.

😐

He has to actually say it.

Back on topic.

I Think Jack Black was the best actor in this movie. He really redeemed himself.

😂 So true! The audience were laughing as soon as they came online...it was hella funny.

I think Mando has made it clear that if you have issues you can pm him about the quotes.

Back on the Topic of King Kong.

I'm undecided on the film. I finally saw it last night. And quite frankly it isn't as good as people hyped the film. It does start really good with the opening scenes of New York city before WWII. The poverty, mixed with the luxury shots were excellent. Half way the movie I was really loving it. However, when they reach the island and the search party penetrates the island the whole thing just crumble.

The film puts the characters in the most absurd situations and ridicolous (sp?) scenes. That whole narrow alley when the dinosaurs and humans are running was overly done. As a matter a fact the entire action/adventure of the film was extremely and exaggerateed. Kong fighting the T-Rex was fun but not impressive.

This is one film PJ really try to be sneaky. Putting Christmas trees in the background while Kong is ice skating was rather dull. Yeah, we know is christmas time and the film was release during the holiday season...blah, blah, blah. Nice try PJ.

Not going to review it further.

Don't believe the Hype.

I agree with much of what you say. It's been a long time since I have seen a movie that can go both over the top on moment and provide an excellent moment minutes later. The Dino's stampeding in the in the valley was over the top, the t-rex fight went waayyyyyy too long and the insect scene was ridiculous to name a few. However, the subtleties of Jack Black's character when a crew mwmber dies, the guy who played the first mate and the depiction of Kong (facial expressions, emotions and all) were great.

The ice scen should have been cut as it did not advance the plot one iota and was cornier than anything that was being popped in the vendors popcorn makers.

This movie had some great moments, but I think PJ was trying too hard to make it a spectacle.

does anyone think PJ took waaaaay looonnng with Kong and Ann give each other lingering looks right before he fell to his death?

I remember watching it, and then turned around to glare at some obnoxious teenage girls talking on their cell phones, and 2 minutes later, I turn back to the screen and it was still the same lingering scene...

The film did had is charming moments. Naomi Watts was very lovely when she tries to entertain Kong. And to be honest.....I had a hard time taking Jack Black seriously. I kept thinking Shallow Hal in the back of my mind. Brody trying to be heroic wasn't very convincing.

You do realise it's a film about an island inhabited by dinosaurs, giant centipedes and a 25 foot gorilla, right? 😉

AHHHH back from the cinema.

FIRSTLY, the movie was pretty good, BUT there was a whole bunch they could have left out.

The begining was pretty ok, things got out of hand when they reached on the island. I agree with what was said before, the sauropod chase sequence was BS. IT was tedious to watch and as dinosaurs go, it was wrong. Sauropods( adults) dont have to run from anything, so these small puny carnivores were not gonna freak them out like that. God you would think they learned something from Jurassic park????

My main problem with this movie was the dinosaurs. The T-rexs were aweful. I did not like them. They were horrible to look at and their general behaviour was not mega carnivore like. They were off coloured, ugly and they were portrayed as blood thirsty killing machines, when they are not. A tyrannosaurus Rex aint gonna put down a HUGE kill to run after a starving girl. NO way no how.

The leeches and insect scene was way overdone, and should not have even been filmed!!!.

OKKKK enough bout the gripping. I loved loved Kong, he was done really well. Its impossible in this day and age to film a movie about a giant 'ape' and not show its softer side. Its protective, caring, "OMG look at those puppy dog eyes" side. Kong fighting the T-rexs was done well, him in the city babffled by the buildings and cars was heartbreaking, and lets NOT go on about the end.

Pretty good movie, would have been better if they left out a lot of the scenes from Skull Island. Dont see how Peter Jackson could get an oscar nom for directing this though.

If I remember right, That scene was not in PJ's original shooting script. But he put it in anyway, because the '33 version had it, But took it out at the last minute. So he added it in there at the last minute.

Agree with you about the dinosaurs, I do. The dinosaurs were rather cartoonish and not just cuz of the CGI. If they were gonna make Kong very realistic like a huge gorilla, you'd think they'd do the same with the dinosaurs. Small theropods chasing a herd of sauropods??? And trying to grab the humans no less... And yes, the V-rexes would be ganging up to eat Kong rather than a measley morsel such as Ann.

Of course, it's an adventure, popcorn movie. But those scenes could use more suspense and less inflated action.

I actually enjoyed the centipedes and bugs scenes...because they were 1) new (yes, I know they deleted the scenes in the classic and 2) grotesque. Nobody really knows what dinosaurs look like but everyone can imagine how scary it would be if there were actually gigantic spiders and crickets.

The V-Rexes look pretty real to me.
