King Kong (2005)

How can we really compare a real dinosaur to a CGI one, when we haven't seen a real one in the first place?

I've never seen a real Ogre, but I'm still pretty sure the one in Shrek was fake...

Yes we've never seen a real Dinosaur, but with all the movies and documentaries been made within the last 10 years, you would think tha they've come down to a standard when animating them.

For me the dinosaurs were done poorly in the movie. Come on with out King Kong( the original) Speilberg would never have wanted to put Jurassic Park into film. The dinosaurs there were perfect( well except that for the raptors, since we now know that they had feathers).
You would think that they knew how to make great Dinosaurs in film now, it was just to do the island and Kong perfectly. .......which they pretty much did though. LOL

Hmmmmm I think when we get the DVD, we'll edit it ourselves and see if the movie would have been better without some scenes.

You know, its funny, for once a movie didn't leave out anything , it had too much stuff.

if they had the V-rexes looking like the T-rexes in JP...i'd been totally satisfied. Those animals looked like real, breathing, textured, etc. dinosaurs. And as anatomically correct as can be according to science.

I didn't like the V-rexes for their goofy expressions, misplaced teeth, and awkwardly robust necks...as well as the extreme horizontal biped stance. But yea, they were supposedly "evolved" forms...so what the hey.... NOw that I think about it, the ps2/xbox King Kong game's V-rex looked pretty awesome and not at all like the ones in the movie.

mebbe it's cuz they were shown in broad daylight, as opposed to JP's T-rex scenes, which usually happened at night...

alucard My brother would agree with you on the dinosaurs thing but to me its just a film and i liked the way he roared loudly when he had vanquished them and beat his fists against his chest.
Noami Watts reminded me of nicole kidman a bit , me personally found the making kong laugh quite funny. One kid in the cinema at the front row was slightly upset at it i was sad but not upset.

😆

I Have 😐

Great movie. I love the dinosaur parts.

Did any of you notice that there was another King Kong Skull in the cave where there was loads of those big bats? Its Skeleton was twice the size of Kongs.

Yeah I was assuming it was his mother or something..

The only part of the dinosaurs I didnt like was when that dude shot one of them and started the avalanche of dinosaurs.....it looked stupid. They didnt have a sense of weight or anything that JP had.

Yeah I noticed the other HUGE primate skeletons on the ground.
BUt are you sure it was twice the size of KONG? I dont remember seeing a reference to its size.

i just finished this movie and i personally really liked it. Some stuff could've been more realistic, but overall a good movie. as for the dinosaurs which seems to be the big argument here, i really didnt like everything with the brontosaurus, considering the chances that they would've never stepped on some of those people is very low, and when they all tripped and were piled up, it was like a giant dino orgy. then V-rexes were alright in my opinion, cool stuff. king kong vs. 3 of those bad boys was crazy though, i don't know if he's that tough. but anyway, a good movie, acting was great, everything was definantly good! a must see

I went to watch this last night. I loved it I thought it was a great movie with awesome special effects and some really amazing camara work. Also i thought Jack Black played a very good part in it even though i don't really like Jack Black all that much i thought he done very well.

don't think kong is that tough, how can you tell that movie is all you can base it on...plus he is KING kong he ruled that island for a reason...

just seen it and i thought it was pretty good, a bit long and drawn out though, Peter Jackson tends to do that in his films.

hahaah the dino orgy

my mate said the same thing at the time and i cracked up!!

Good movie, but very, very cheesy.

The over-the-top fights, bugs, dinosaurs... and at the end of the movie when the woman walks toward Kong in a bright light... Christ...

Wow it was cheesy. But it was enjoyable. And for some, that's all that matters. For some...

82%

Well, I'd venture to say that the cheese factor was far lower then one should expect froma movie about a giant ape from an island home to dinosaurs and giant insects. I believe it's a testament to the films greatness that it remained cheesy, as it should have, and still had a very powerful emotional dramatic center.

HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Peter made a cameo appearance in Kong, anyone catch a glimpse of him?

Not only Peter, his kids, the manager of Weta workshop, and one of the co-producers of ROTK.
