The Relationship between the Man and the kid was supposed to be symbolic for A parent-like relationship. And when he died it showed how one person struggles to get over his fathers death. Which is also demonstrated in a different and more powerful way between Anne and Kong. I don't think there will ever be a sequel because, Peter Jackson is WAY to smart to ruin a classic movie by making add-ons. He is also on a hiatus, and when he gets back he will work on his next film titled "The Lovely Bones" (2007) and Executive produce "Halo".

Spoiler:just so ya know. and instead of a parent like relationship, i kinda just saw it as they had always been uneasy towards each other, always a kind of rivalry their, then when both their lives were on the line their true friendship feelings came out kind of.
the monkey's dead
Good movie, overhyped, and unnecessarily long, but good nonetheless. The end scenes between Kong and Naomi Watts were, IMO, ridiculous and teetering on some beastial relationship, wrongfully trying to humanize "King Kong", milking the emotion cow for all it was worth.
It was far from flawless, and there were plenty of instances of sensory and emotional overload, all while PJ assumed he needed to make it comparable to LOTR in both story and scale, when he didn't.
I have heard of that one its from '86 I think right ?
The Son Of Kong was realeased in 1933 like King Kong and is about Carl Denham leaving New York with a few others who were involved because of all the damage he caused by bringing Kong there and he finds a smaller Kong on skull island and make friends with him.
Robert Armstrong plays Carl in this one to.
