possibly the most annoying 'indie' band ever.... being their bassist and drummer has to be the easiest job ever aswell. since all their beats are the same, and theyre all simple

I love Franz Ferdinand. They have one of the greatest albums out this year, (along with The Libertines, Keane, The Killers, The streets and Snow patrol) Without them 2004 would have pretty much sucked! And everyone knows it! They definitly deserved the mecury award.

on the contrary....2004 got along fine (indie-wise) without Franz. The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster (loose indie i admit) - Royal Society, Bloc Party's EP, and like you said The Libertines and The Killers - Hot Fuss, Interpol - Antics, think Eastern Lane released a Cd or 2 this year aswell

i wouldnt even put Franz Ferdinand in the top 5 Indie Releases of this year....then again i wouldnt put them anywhere near the top. at all.

The Strokes, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand...they're all the same band with the same chugchugchug crackly guitar riffs, just different nationalities and a singer that is annoying in a different way.

their music interested me for about 2 songs. then i realised that they were basically the same. so i gave them the flick

Well i think their fun and get you in the mood to go out and have a laugh. They are really good musicians with a lot of talent.

good musicians? u ever actually stopped and listened to the bass lines on their songs....i mean song....i mean, u ever stopped and listened to the 1 bass line they have on their album?

then again, ever listen to Hatebreeds bassline (i like hatebreed dont get me wrong)? i looked it up at taborama.com to learn some of their bass and its all done on the tops string. you could safely cut the bottom two strings off and still have a barely used third one

See you dont have to make something different to make it sound good.

hatebreed do make up for their bassline in many ways, unfortunatly Franz Ferdinand dont, sorry to raise your hopes that i was going to stick up for them i was just using an example

I dont need anyone to stick up for me. I believe that Franz is a good band and you dont fair enough. But i feel like your missing out. If you just sit back and go with it, or even have fun listening to the songs (probably the best) you might like them, i mean they even admitted that the songs are generally just to make people dance.

nah, i've heard their music plenty, i've formed my opinion on this band and that opinion is that their sensationalised and will fade away quicker than you can say milli vanilli

I seriously doubt they will. I think they will make it through all the shit that people say. Its all just opinion and i think that more people like them then dislike them, considering they have won all them awards which fans will of had to vote for.

I actually quite like them,but I have to agree with some people on here that there sound is 2 repetitive,so unless they change there sound for there next album I cant see them lasting either.

they wont last out the year, theyll release an appauling new album and then slowly fade away

i hate Franz Ferdinand i find them an embarrasment to our country.

I liked them... Then I heard that stupid "Take Me Out" song played several quintillion times on the radio.
