Cheating in school.. good or bad?

You know... here in Florida we have a standardized test called the FCAT. Unlike most state's standardized test, FCAT is required to graduate from high school and get your diploma. I know countless numbers of people who have passed all their classes but can't pass the damn FCAT, and end up having to delay their graduation over that. I passed it the first time, but if I needed to, I'd cheat on it in a minute. Beyond that, me and my friends share answers all the time. Yeah it's being lazy, I'm not going to deny that, but it's not depriving myself of an education as long as I learn the material too.. which I always do.

I can't stand when people cheat. Last year in English class some retard copied my project word-for-word (it was some thing we did on a website so someone could look at someone else's project if they wanted), and I was accused of allowing him to cheat. Yeah, because I'd really spend hours working on this thing to get a 100% on it and then let someone else copy. I was MAD over that.

If you just cheat on everything, it's going to come back and bite you in the ass one day.

I used to cheat a lot till my parents found out and grounded me for three mounths I never cheated again

Cheating is for morons.

A couple of years back this girl I was sitting next to during my exams copied everything I wrote without me realising. the first I knew about it was when i was hauled into my heads office, screamed at, threatened with suspension and told i'd have to sit back a year. They presumed it was me cheating because I was the lazy student who never did my homework and the rebel out of the 2 of us. I wouldnt have a problem with cheating if the only person you affected was yourself but you dont.

i hope to pass half of exams this way 😮 bag
(what is clear for everyone and we are planing to make a kind of group work on that test 😕 )

some punishment is needed, JP? 😱

*gets out camera* 😖hifty:

here in Brazil you can cheat your whole life and take the best grades, but as these grades dont count to college, most people who pass the life cheating dont pass the exams for college, so if you wanna have a future, you must study for real...

Cheating = bad.

Cheaters are lazy, good-for-nothing freeloaders of society, like some welfare recipients. In the words of my Economics teacher, they should "shrivel up and die".

That's really harsh, but I agree fully. 😬

cheating is not BAD i mean like in a test, of course u shouldnt do it but well who doesnt cheat on a test... 😗

well me of course....

if i didnt cheat in school id still be in 3rd grade 😖

lol!!

this kid in my math class copied all my answers on a tes& i didnt know the next day we got are tests back. & i got a good score 97% while he got a low score turns out he had a different test then i did & he just copied without noticing we had diff. tests. then the teacher was sayin most of u copied answers when u all had different test either a or b i was just laughing so much....

i've had people cheat off of me, and it actually worked to my advantage. You see, there was a teacher who was really "biased" (dont think thats the appropriate word, but whatever) against me for some reason, and somebody cheated off of me on every math problem on the whole test. we got our tests back, and even though they were the same tests, with the same answers, the other person scored 10 points higher than i did. I brought this to her attention and her answer was that on ones that "we" got wrong, i wasn't awarded partial credit. Her reason? Because she thought i was just guessing, while the other person supposedly had some idea of what they were doing. Well, to make a long story of lies and phone calls short, after the teacher failed me with a 69.8 (70 passes) i was finally able to get her fired 🙂

I never just copy off of somebody's paper without asking them.. me and my friends just make an agreement. Like "you do numbers 1-10 and I'll do 11-20" if there is 20 questions. Yeah it's taking a shortcut.. but I never have any trouble passing the exams without cheating so I don't really care.

Still think cheating is bad, but I always got a warm, self satisfied glow back in high school when I consistently beat the few people who cheated in history and English. I used to think if they put the same amount of time and effort into study as to trying to cheat through they could do just as well if not better, without doing something as bad as cheating.

Cheaters do always lose. My friend cheated for a long time, and once he got into higher classes, he got kicked out and it ****ed up his graduation, and I'm pretty sure he has to redo the 12th grade. His fault.

nothing is bad unless you get caught.

Like my seargents say.... false motivation, trying, etc. is better than nothing at all.
