This topic somehow reminds me of the “Is having children a right” thread a few months back.
Being “a” human being is unfortunately not the same as being a good parent. Anyone who disagrees should look up the definition of child-abuse, incest and child-beatings and other things parents seem perfect capable of inflicting on their children.
So… what is it that a priori should make a homosexual person a LESS fit parent than a straight person?
NOTHING!
So, is there anything in a persons sexuality that – a priori - makes him or her an unfit parent? No.
I can only assume that those who do not think gay people should be allowed to adopt, are the same people who still think homosexuality is a choice.
There shouldn't be a problem with gay couples adopting children.... If they choose to then so be it.. A lack of respect is what america is today... People need to realize that gay people are entitled to adopt a child as much as a straight person is..If there was true respect, people would respect gay couples to adopt children..... I mean people would respect it if the couple was straight rite?....
I disagree with what some of you are saying.
What is the difference between a gay guy or a straight guy adopting kids. One of my friends dad is gay and he had been married for 29 years. Just because your gay it dosent mean that you are a kiddy fiddler or you don't love them, infact personally I think that gays are more loving and more sensitive. I mean look at marco out of BB5, I thought that he was lovely!

No If gays what something to love and take care of they should go get a cat or something
People have said it before, and I will say it again, I see no evidence, just opinion, that suggests a gay person is unfit, or less fit, to raise a child then a heterosexual, I see nothing that suggests its unnatural (we're humans, we do unnatural things, like care for our elderly, where as if we were animals we would probably let the wolves take them), no reason why it would harm a child, no reason why a gay person has no right. I would like to see hard fact against it, instead of just conjecture, especially as I am all for it.

Anyway why shouldn't gays be allowed, is there actually a reasonable reason (I don't mean a 4000 year old part in the Bible Christianns shouldn't believe in anyway)
I mean Gays are just as Loving and as good as Parents as anyone else, the only thing that is said here is that other kids would be mean to them, but that is the fault of Society not of the Gays, they shouldn't suffer from that.
True, true. But sadly as law doesn't permit gay people easy access to adoption etc that is the whole thing "should gay people be allowed to adopt, just as heterosexual people are allowed to adopt"? But you are right, every person has a right to have a child unless they do something that makes them unsuitable to have children, and to be honest I see nothing that makes a homosexual unsuitable.
