Oh, and Smas...it's "Deus". Not "Dues".
It wouldn't have been so annoying if he only wrote 'Dues', but he kept alternating.

My opinion on the only reason it sells so well is because the original was a launch title for the Xbox and the games have been advertised to hell and back, because as far as FPSs go, there are better out there.
Exactly. It was founded on hype, and it continues on the Emperor's New Clothes syndrome.

Technically, Bioshock itself is not a hugely innovative game as everything in it had been done before in System Shock 2. The two games are identical with just a different setting and a huge graphics and AI upgrade. Even the plot is near-identical. If you don't believe me, go ask Ush.But very few people have even heard of SS2, let alone played it. And the things done in those two games had never been done before in a shooter before SS2, nor had ever been done since until Bioshock came along.
Indeed. System Shock II was actually a very innovative game, but seeing as how Bioshock borrowed a majority of elements from it, Bioshock couldn't be considered thoroughly innovative. (Though, I say again, it is a fantastic game.)
EDIT: Oh, and in case we're still going back to the alcohol thing, Saint's Row featured substance abuse that affected your vision and controls, as did Narc, if I remember correctly.

And AC, its very obvious that you've come into this thread to bash Halo which is fine if thats your opinion.... and if I can't convince you that its an awesome FPS then thats alright, but we heard your opinion and we get the point.... so if you can click the white X in the upper right corner of your monitor at this time then that would be greatly appreciated. =)
You're very much the Halo fanboy because you view negative critique as bashing.

All video game franchise get hype and become overrated by their fans. Such case is Final Fantasy and Resident Evil. RE really became more fun to play till RE4 showed up. Prior to that it was the same old bad camera angles and same genetic storyline.
Yeah, RE was forced to change because everyone was calling for a change of some kind. Right now the Halo formula still works, and for its fan it works great. If they make more Halo games(in a story arc apparently) and they stay the way they are, then there might be a big call for change.
Some of the hype wore off on the latest Zelda after using the same formula for 4 games, it just happens. So far Halo hasnt worn out its welcome, but if they keep it up the same way, it will.
That being said, I am looking forward to Halo, even though Halo 2 aggravated me to no end. 😛

Well you're wrong on both counts.
The mods tolerate whatever they're in the mood to tolerate, and calling someone a fanboy isn't bashing, though you're definitely biased and one-sided. You never picked out the fact that he called me retarded and threw insults at me. The worst I did was called him a fanboy.

Expect Zelda does change gameplay, OoT was like the first 3D adventure game. MM changed gameplay by adding the transformation masks; Deku, Goron, Zora, and Fierce Diety Masks which changed the way you actually played.
TP changed gameplay by adding the wolf form. Unlike Halo, Zelda has actually added things that did add new gameplay to the game just like how WW added in sword skills that gave you new ways to fight your opponents.
I dont consider those really big changes, they are more cosmetic than anything else. The masks are no different than any other item you get, and the sword fighting and such are just refinements any series gets as it goes along.
Playing as the wolf or a goron(or anything else in MM) wasnt very different than playing as normal link. 95% of the gameplay has been the same since Oot. Im not complaining, I still love all the 3D Zelda games, including TP, but im expecting more evolution from the next version.
Another example would be the recent GTA games, Vice City and San Andreas added plenty of new things, but they were just extensions of the same formula put forward with III. GTA IV looks to actually be evolving the gameplay.
Like I said though, Im not anti-halo, im not ejaculating in my shorts anytime hear about it, but I do enjoy it. But if Bungie doesnt do something new with the franchise soon, it will get stale.

Anyway sorry but it really pisses me off when people come into a thread named HALO 3 and start bitching about it.
well think of it as every game being a piece of artwork in a gallery... there are those who absolutely adore it and accept everything about it (including possible flaws).. and those that know there could be more, and offer their most brutal critique not for the sake of negativity / bashing, but more in hopes that the developer will try harder to bring a more quality piece into the gallery / market on their next attempt
