Oh, that must be why they enlist.
No. Most enlist because it's a way to gain skills that can help you for the rest of your life, and is a job that pays money if you have nowhere else to go.
If you drop out of High School and you have no idea how to do anything, join the army, do a tour, and suddenly you have full funding to go to College and you can study anything you want and essentially work at anything you want, and you get life-long benefits to boot.
And most people who enlist in the army for a reason generally have different opinions of the military when it's over. Look at Vietnam. The majority of the people who enlisted wanted to just leave the army and didn't give a shit by the time it ended.
You're disillusioned.
More people join the miltiary so that they can learn skills and turn their life around, or "for the excitement", then because they genuinly want to protect their country.

No there isn't, because they both have the same ideals. Are you saying that Marcus doesn't know what he's fighting for and won't do anything to end the war? WUT?
You're not even making sense now. You're just like.. saying random shit.
If Marcus would have done anything to win the war, he wouldn't have let Dom go off on his tangent to find one person.
They risked the entire war, with that one decision.

Actually, most people in Vietnam were drafted. Besides, there is a stark contrast between fighting for some foreign country and fighting to save your entire species from extinction.

Marcus Fenix knows what he fights for and will do anything to make sure that the war is not lost. At least Marcus knows how to give a monstrous race some trouble and he does all this without being a scientists guinea pig and having his **** snipped off during the process making him a woman.
And if he had forced Dom to come along with him, which wouldn't have worked, meaning he would have had to shoot him, then they would have been ****ed anyway.
And the Chief did the exact same thing on the first Halo when he busted Jacob Keyes out of jail, with Cortana in his head, meaning that if he had been captured the Covenant would have learned everything, thus risking the entire war. Keyes even berates him afterward and calls him stupid for doing so.
Oh noez.

And I'm talking about the ones who enlisted. Do you want another example? Iraq.

Because the COG totally weren't fighting to save their entire species from extinction.

Gain skills, you make it sound like an RPG. You pretty much accused solders of enlisting for selfish reasons. There are no set of "skills" that you cant learn elsewhere. I'm pretty sure there is something else to it.
😂
You're quite humerous. 1. Marcus has risked the entire ware before going off on a tangent (finding dom's wife). 2. What trouble do you speak of? Blowing them up and flooding them just to find out they're still not dead? He's more of a threat to humanity than the locust. He destroyed Humanity's last safe-haven to kill the locust... and their still not dead

Your right, Doom had his **** snipped off like some woman. Man didn't even need his wife.

Everyone does everything for selfish reasons.

Really? Where else can you gain a full guaranteed 4 year scholarship to learn whatever skill you want, as well as lifetime health benefits and insurances?

Way to totally ignore what I said. Deciding to not quote what your opponent says and answer it directly is a sign of grasping for straws. Keep dancing.

And... how is that Marcus' fault?
The UNSC didn't even try. How many full on planets did they lose? They lost every single planet they own to the Covenant, and in the end, ya know, the end of the game, only managed to survive due to a civil war they didn't start and because the of the Flood, whom they don't control.
The UNSC only lived due to luck, and because they were the least threatening species of the three.

Ok, how about these as examples? WWI, WWII, American Civil War, American Revolution, The Persian war...
yea... people cared about winning those wars.
and once again... there is a stark contrast between fighting for some foreign country and fighting to stop your entire race from becoming extinct.

Oh, like that's the only scholarship out there. Great example to, since people who join the military often pick that over college. I don't think health benefits are skills my friend. The biggest insult is the statement that everyone does things for selfish reasons, it's a sad day in the world if people have come to think that.

Any anti-Revolutionaries were shot. Had a draft.
The Persian war...
This is retarded.

Keep up the LOLtrain.

And To decide clever quirks and not create valid points is an example of no argument.
What do you mean the UNSC didn't even try, have you not read the books, or even heard about Halo Wars. Thats all there is to the game, the War!!!

Some do. Many take the opportunity and go for an Education instead. Woah.
I don't think health benefits are skills my friend.

Name one thing anybody has ever done that hasn't been done for selfish reasons.

I agree.
So stop with your invalid arguments.
