so is this game gonna live up to the hype or at least be any good at all judging by the beta?

I feel the same way, and for different reasons you do about double team and VIP, I did it on High Ground and it was terrible...

Wow, I am still a Gunnery Seargeant, damn, how often do you play?

Can't today, but within the next day or two, I would be glad too.

I play a lot. I'm a halo junkie since Halo:CE, and I was anticipating the beta with a lot of excitement, so right now I'm burning it non-stop until it ends. *Sniff*

Same, I loved Halo, but did not get Live until a couple months ago, so that kind of restricted my online playing to just the campaign, which I loved just the same.

Its just a tweaked version of Halo 2, which isnt bad, but people shouldnt expect anything special.

But the campaign may suprise us since we dont know anything about it.

Campaign. droolio

I personally like the Halo 3 online right now better than the Halo 2.

How can you? Bungie has made the thing total crap.

1. They say their trying to "equal the playing field". By doing so, you could be a total dumbass who hasn't played before, carrying the AR and a few grenades, and you could be tied with the leader, who's been playing for so long and has the best weapons on him.

2. The bullets for the sniper and the BR move extremely slow now, so it's nearly impossible to get a headshot without someone moving. It takes about 1 second after you fire for the bullet to go anywhere.

3. The Spartan Laser is total crap, as you need to hold down the trigger for 5 seconds for it to fire, and there isn't any lock-on anymore. You need to try and keep the target in the center, which is hard to do because people are moving in different directions.

I would've expected something a lot better from Bungie. They're losing it when it comes to making FPS games.

1) By equalling the playing field and making all the weapons more balanced, it gives more people a chance who haven't played before instead of getting owned each and every time they spawned. And with the new ranking system, new players will not be playing with awesome old players.

2) Makes it more realistic, in Halo 2, there was no recoil on either weapon, they had to fix that and make it more balanced and it works better this way.

3) If you only needed to hold down the trigger for 2 seconds or so, it would be way too overpowered. I will admit, I preferred the lock on, it was a lot easier to use the rocket launcher, but it's allright, I rarely used it anyways.

They are gaining for me in making FPS games.

wow.. you must be new to the FPS genre

its nice to know that the weapons actually take skill to wield now

Weapons always took skill, just more so now, I had trouble using some in Halo 2 online, but now I can use a bunch of things.

Has anybody heard of a glitch in the Beta that allows you to play custom games? I was invited to a game the other day and it was a custom one, normal team slayer but with changed things, like different gravity, and swords were available, they had limited life span. When the game ended, I asked them and they said it was some sort of glitch, I didn't get to hear how however...

How could you be tied with the leader if you can't even use the Spartan Laser?

I don't use the Spartan Laser too often...

Crybaby. If you're good at Halo you would have gotten over the new adjustments in a couple of days.

This entire post just proves how big of a noob you are. Whinning about the Sniper Rifle's slight delay. Whinning about having a good weapon to respawn with. Whinning about the Spartan Laser. Whinning about the lock-on missing.

Newsflash if you're really good none of those would be a problem. Pro players will always own noobs. No matter how balanced the game is.

Besides if I have the Sniper Rifle and a Battle Rifle in Valhalla an assaulter won't be killing me unless I screw up and stop watching my perimeter and in that instance I deserve to die and lose the Sniper.

The Spartan Laser is nasty. I recommend practicing with it so you can whoop ass. In Valhalla it is a must have to take out Banshees, Mongooses, and Warhogs. It's also good for taking out unaware Snipers and the V.I.P. Also if you don't get the laser kill, and you know you hit them just switch weapons and shoot them, the splash damage of the laser should make up for an easy kill.

Superboy Prime, I couldn't join your match last night, I tried to, and it came up with a connection problem 😬

My favourite map is definately Valhalla, and I can actually say that I have never been sniped out of it, but on the other hand, if I get the sniper right away, I can take a few out while they are in the man cannon right in the beginning.

All hail the High Prophet of Truth! 😛

I dont see what a lack of Lock-On matters, as in Halo 1 Online the RL didn't lock on, and moved slow as hell. It took real skill to time it just right to blow up vehicles.

Auto-lock on is really gay. It took 0 skill to destroy any vehicles in Halo 2 because of it. Only noobs who dislike the idea of actually putting effort in a kill complain about it.

My only concern is how Bungie will balance the sword out. IMO it is quite simple, just limit the damned thing's ammo like the campaign.

And besides if he actually played the beta or researched enough he would find out that the missile pod has the lock-on he misses so much.

The sword does have a limited amount of "battery."

Yeah in the campaign, but in Halo 2's multi it does not.

Say...anyone that has the beta join my party around 6pm. I'll try to make a custom game and I need a party of 8 players to do it.
