Okay.... its a trailer, I shall give you the details so you know what we've been able to see....
Starts off introducing the books. (Possibly saying something, about what a success they are or with a catch line like "You've read about them now you can see them..." something like that, I take French not Japanese)
Then after the TV logo shows up... we have a picture of the belt.... on a black background, actually looks good in a circular shape so we can see all the details, then it shatters.
Red sky with Ak-Baba flying in it... possibly the night the gems were nicked.(they appear to be in 3D)
Cut to Lief, opening a chest... as he does, a bright light is coming from it... he gasps. Jarred and Anna... I gather, and the lower torso of someone in rags (we'll safely assume its Barda) are standing around the chest, or box, or whatever it is... but its glowing.
Close up of Lief's waist, either something is under his shirt or over it. Its glowing so I can't tell... close up of Lief's face.... I'm not sure what his expression is supposed to be at the moment. He looks surprised or something... confused maybe.
Then we go to Jasmine, in the forests carrying a piece of material (I think its lief's cloak) she placed her hand on a tree so maybe she's doing her nature talking thing.
Close ups of Lief's Face. Jasmine +Filli and then Barda.
Blackout, then Lief drawing his sword. Shot of Lief, saying something to Barda, they are back to back with swords drawn.
There seems to be some flying red lights around them (Maybe the Wenn....)
Then it cuts to Lief, almost being eaten by the Wennabar... you see the lower mouth... moves very fast, so it took two viewing for me to be certain.
Cut to Jasmine, shouting out to Lief (I think...sound like Lief anyway) she swinging on a vine or something... filli on her shoulder... she has one hand outstretched.
Then we go to the big guy.
The Golden Knight Dude (Gorl... or something like that) He is defiantly in 3D.
And has magical powers for some reason... he fires some golden lightning thing at someone off screen.... can just see some vines behind him, so the lilies of life are still there.
Cut back to Lief, who's doing a run up sword attack making a the same noise Link does in Legend of Zelda when he swings his sword (YAAAAHHH) goes for Gorl misses, who counter attacks (I think Gorl misses too.... not sure.)
Close up of Jasmine's face... she looks and sounds mad (not sure about what, cause its in japanese)
Cut to Lief again, having another go at Gorl.
Then... DQ Logo, says when it comes out end of Trailer.
Some good tension music as well.

a webpage the video clips seem to be showing up on I know its in japanese but it should have the little movie symbol next to it...
one of them I'm watching now.... the new one is an interview with Ms Emily Rodda... you can hear the english under it if you listen carefully...
although its an interview there are some clips in it as she is descrivbing the characters
In order... lief falling off some burning building or tent or something.... whatever it is its on fire... and him running all excited and stuff, then running into a large bush... then there's Jasmine with Filli looking sad, her looked annoyed as she talks to someone behind her off screen and them her jumping of what appears to be the huge branch of a tree... then we see Jin and Jod capturing Lief with some rope thingy (I know its them, as they are in a kitchen and look like big blobs, then we see Gorl standing still... his sword to the ground. We see a bit of the fight, with Lief skidding across the ground, looking hurt in some leave, Barda jumping into action, Filli in the Noradz City, we see the nice people who live their looking terrified. Filli looking upset, Jasmine holding him. Then we see Kree... he looks evil.... his eyes look evil
I'm sorry for continuing to say this... but I'm up to my third clip.

Shot of the Belt in its nice museum like case. (Snazzy)
In fly the Ak-Baba... towards Del, Belt shatters... long shot of the map... as the gems fly off.... (Literally)
Shot of the lake of tears.... the weeping stone is visible...
go to long shot of the city of rats (I assume.) Looks good...
Then the edge of the Shifting Sands... the big stone wall is visible.
Then Dread Mountain covered by the Boolabong Trees... looks evil...
then a shot of the maze of the beast...
and a misty valley, a building with blue lights its just visible...
Then we see a row of some.... guys in grey (If its the grey guards they changed the design from the Monster Book.) The still look good thought... identical, and since they are wearing coverings over their lower faces... a bit more sinister sort of like those guys in 'The Mummy' cept in grey and identical.
We see the back of some important looking guy with a long plait of hair... can't tell the color, as he's in the shadows, of fire-light. (I think its Endon, due to the crown) He puts his head in his hands (You know... the 'what have I done' thing)
blackout.... 16 years later... long shot of the city of del...
Go to the inside of the forge its night time.
Anna is hugging Lief... Jarred is sitting down near the window.
Lief, talks a bit... slowing closing in on his face... looks determined.
He starts opening a box on the kitchen table.
Pretty much the same scene as the first trailer.... but a bit more is added... close up of barda... he has a really long beard(like Dumbledore long), must shave before he leaves.
Jarred, is going grey and has a more well kept beard.... short hair, like what Barda has for most of the series.
Glowing dies down... dramatic music... see the empty belt in a nice cushioned box... Lief puts it on... it starts to glow again... then he says goodbye to his folks...
Barda shows up...
compared to him... Lief is... in a word short... Barda is twice as big as him in height and more buff (Lief is a stick, compared to him) and Lief, looks slightly alarmed, as he doesn't recognise him.
Cut to a scene with Barda taking out one of those Grey Guards (from before) after the bad guy falls Lief pokes his head out from behind him with this blank look on his face, blinking stupidly. (Sorry, but thats how he looks in this scene, and why wouldn't he, he hasn't had any experience of the field yet.)
Go to Jasmine, talking.
Then to her jumping out from the canopy, to Lief and Barda lying on the ground motionless. (The Wenn Scene is a definite in the series now... no denying it. ITS THERE!!)
She walks up to a tree and placed her forehead on it, with her eyes closed (probably listening to it) for some strange reason it glows... don't know why...
Shot from behind Lief, the wennabar's mouth opening up (its huge compared to him, takes up most of the screen... where as Lief is in the left-hand corner) he dodges as it lunges at him. Cut to Jasmine swinging Lief, to safety. He falls down as he lands on the branch (he's still on the branch... its a very large tree branch) Sits there a moment, and blinks stupidly. (Not too bright in the first one is he...)
Jasmine gives him a bit of a lecture.
Barda swings up by himself.
A bit of conversation between the three, probably in the nest.
Lief and Barda dodged some guy... (maybe the Bridge Guardian in Lake of Tears) as he swings down a sword. Close up of Lief's face who is wearing a 'what the hell?' face.
Go to Gorl doing his thing, glimpse of Jin and Jod, chasing the Trio with some nasty weaponry.
Cut to Lief and Barda in the forest. Lief touches his shirt where the belt is hidden under his shirt, makes a comment (probably it going warm) And low an behold we see Gorl, in the distance...
Ends there.
On a whole... in my personal opinion, besides a few costume design changes... It looks true to the books, out of all the clips I've seen...

hmmm.... well.... this may be how they are solving the Ol problem. I mean, that was always my main concern with the monsters, The Ol looking like a white blob on screen, with maybe a scary face. (That would look hilarious in some aspects you have to admit.... or is it just me who thinks that...)
Its possible that some of the more significant monsters, influenced by the shadow lord are going to be in 3D or partial 3D... to try and make them more forbidding and evil looking or something. Like the trio are going up against something of pure evil, rather then just a monster.
Maybe its only certain scenes or something.... I'll analyze the clips a bit more... they may only appear to be in 3D
And they only appear to be 3D at present.
With Gorl.... it looks effective.... I mean he is a spiritually possessed piece of Jalis Armor... and the new viewers aren't supposed to know that until after they defeat him....
The Ak-Baba.... if they are Ak-Baba... have been made a bit more birdlike... and what the world.... neater in their design, from the book cover of Return to Del and the Monster Book.
But I think we all expected changes... costume changes and a change in some of the Monster designs should be expected... cause unlike our wonderful illustrator of the novels, these good people have to make them move, fight and scream bloody murder.
Remember as well, all the designs will have been approved by Ms Emily Rodda... from what I've managed to hear in her interview (the one from the link, I gave earlier... can just hear the English) She is pleased with the result.
In fact with the Noradz People. They actually look as they do in one of the fan art pics I've seen in the past. Cept with hats.
Personally as long as the Ralad are blue, Reeah has a crown, Doom has his scar and the story line doesn't have anything new or the time line changes.
With the current changes so far....

i agree with Elanna, the Ak-Baba have been made far to neater in design for my likeing. i want them to look evil not just be evil on the inside, by what i have seen they look as if they are good( if i hadn't read the series i would think they are!).
I also dont like the whole 2d 3d thing i reckon they should choose which one to do and stick to it, then again thats just my personal opinion.
I bet if we looked hard enough (and able to understand japanese 🙂) we could probly find some concept sketches.
neways thats my lil rant for today i think ill sleep now 🙂
