EP2
Starts off with the last few minutes of episode 1
Recap: Barda puts his guard down and turns to Lief, and yells at him... about crap. We see Barda flinch, as one pair of eyes is just above his shoulder.
He crumples to the ground. He's been stung duh.
As Lief cries out to him, Lief gets stung, and he faints and we see a bit more of an outline of the closer wenn. Lief and Barda are lying motionless on the ground.
Pan up to the treetops. We see a faint, almost invisible outline of someone watching.
A close up of Jasmine’s face, her eyes are set and her expression emotionless.
Now this has got to be one of the best shots of the series.
Wait for it…
A full screen shot of lief’s closed eye (for those who can’t tell I was being sarcastic)
Which after 5 seconds opens, after we hear him give a small groan.
Long shot to where we see Lief and Barda on their backs in front of a big tree.
Lief stares upward for a moment as he comes to, and tries to move.
He can barely lift his head, and can only twitch his fingers. Lief looks over at barda and says something.
Barda stirs and also tries to move
He has no better luck then Lief.
We then see Kree, sitting on a branch. Who flies down and lands on Barda’s chest
Lief makes a comment.
After a moment, Kree gives a squawk. And from the canopy dives Jasmine whom does a back flip and lands on her feet, Kree flies out of sight for the moment. She walks over Lief.
Literally, as the two stare at her.
Barda says something, either to Lief or Jasmine can’t tell.
Jasmine starts talking, to herself, kree and filli or the guys. Then bends down and starts to unclasp Lief’s cloak, Lief asks what she is doing, and she pulls it from under him.
Lief rolls onto his side.
Jasmine continues to talk, then jumps over Barda. Barda and Lief each make a comment, they don’t sound too happy.
Jasmine walks to a nearby tree holding the cloak up to show kree, who gives a squawk in response
Lief says something to Jasmine, she remarks with a cold voice. After Barda asks a question, Jasmine explains something about the Wennabar.
Lief repeats ‘Wennabar’ in confusion, and she continues to explain. She then runs off and jumps out of sight.
Barda tries to move again. He then exchanges a few words with Lief.
Cut to Jasmine, up in the trees. She pauses a moment and looks sad.
Filli jumps into view on her should and comforts her.
She puts on the cloak, and looks pleased with herself a moment, then something grabs the cloak from behind, she gasps and turns.
It’s a living tree branch (AAAHHHH RUUNNN!!!) She pulls it away and has a go at the branch.
We then have a moving shot of seeing the trees, hearing them whisper.
The tree nicks the cloak again and takes it off someone, Jasmine follows it. Accidentally dropping Filli, who is caught by Kree.
When Jasmine catches the cloak, she stops and has a conversation with what I hope is a tree. It seems to know a lot about Barda and Lief.
She places her forehead on the tree, and then there’s a flash of light and she’s seeing a memory/vision thing of lief receiving the cloak.
The vision ends, and they talk more. She looks determined and then Filli arrives on her shoulder. She strokes him.
View of a canopy at sunset. (I think we all know what this means folks)
Lief and Barda talk to each other for a few seconds. Then we hear the rustle of a bush. And Jasmine’s feet near Lief’s head.
She unscrews a bottle, and turns him on his back. Lifting him up so he can drink.
He chokes.
Jasmine has a go at him, and tells him to swallow. Lief sits up, still coughing. Jasmine goes to Barda and keeps talking.
Lief, falls back down and hugs himself (it’s the only way I can describe it) twitching a bit. Sort of sinister music in the background.
Barda gives a nasty cough.
Jasmine looks pleased with herself.
Lief grabs his sword and uses it as a cane, as Barda also struggles to his feet.
Jasmine hears something, and starts helping him to his feet. Talking frantically.
Enter the wennabar.
They group have started to climb up the nearby tree. Kree is crying madly now, in warning. Lief pulls Barda upward.
They think they are safe, as the wennbar reaches the bottom of the tree.
Then it stretches its neck up and roars.
Lief is shivering and comments to jasmine that he is cold, asking where his cloak is.
Jasmine sends Kree to get it.
Lief wraps it around himself, and Barda. Barda pulls Jasmine under the cloak as well, so they’ll keep warm.
It instantly camouflages them. They watch as the wennabar goes away.
Jasmine makes a comment.
Lief has a flashback, about when he got the cloak.
They continue to hide under the cloak, as the wenn arrive. Jasmine explains about them.
Then the wennabar shows up and eats two wenn, just as we see them not shrouded in shadow.
Barda then talks a bit, I thinking he’s talking about following the wennabar to its lair is or something.
Jasmine laughs.
And runs off, towards her nest… (My pc stalled at this part… and by the time I got back it wasn’t letting me view it anymore… I’m assuming it’s just the scene in the nest.)
Part 3…(which I accidentally saw before part 2) starts with Lief about to climb a tree.
As he begins to climb he notices a sticky residue on the base of the tree.
He looks back and sees the wennabar. (its back!! Wonder why?)
The Wennabar is a few inches from him. Lief tries to hit it with his sword.
Which obviously doesn’t work, as he has to jump out of the way to prevent being eaten as it lunges.
Jasmine comes to the rescue, and swings down on a vine and carries him to safety
She has a go at him.
Lief grabs the vine and swings down back to the ground.
(And I will say this now as a matter of opinion… What. An. Idiot.)
He someone managed it to get its head wedged in-between two trees and stabs it.
Barda swings down and stabs it from above.
It runs off. (Clearly because its never been attacks by its food before)
Cut to the trio walking up in the trees. They walk and talk a bit. Jasmine jumps up a level and the tree branch lifts the guys up to their level.
They stop in front of a dark clearing. Which I believe is the Dark.
Kree is circling crying warning, while Filli is shivering on Jasmine’s shoulder.
Barda strokes his beard, and they keep going.
The boys bid jasmine Farewell, and go towards the dark
As soon as they finish climbing down, Lief pauses.
We see a close up of one of the empty talisman links in the belt. My guess is that its started to get warm.
Barda faces the entrance to Gorl’s domain and draw his sword.
Lief has a private thought to himself, and then Barda faces him, while asking a question. Lief replies.
Lief draws his sword and then a bit of wind picks up. Gorl is revealed.
End of episode.
i would of had the entire thing.... but my computer stalled, as mentioned...
I check youtube every day (about three times a day actually)
And since i have nothing better to do at the moment, I'll go see if they have a release date yet and maybe send and email to sunrise and hope they will tell the world about DQ!!!!
I've already written a draft letter...
goes something like this...
Dear Sunrise,
Hi,
I’m one of the teenage viewers of sunrise, my name is Megan and I’m an Yr 12 student from NSW.
A friend told me that you mentioned something in 2004 about a Japanese cartoon series, based on an Australian novel. I may be wrong, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway, considering this series premiered in Japan in the first week of January.
Deltora Quest written by Emily Rodda is a great read which I would recommend for anyone who likes reading. Many of my friends thoroughly enjoy the series, and still do. On behalf of my friends and family I would like to thank Ms Rodda for a great read.
Also if possible we would like to know an estimated date on when the Deltora Cartoon Series starts screening in Australia and which channel.
I have managed to see some of the preview clips and we are all anxiously waiting for it to be released in english
If there's anything you think I should add or just say so...
you know what sucks.... as soon as i get on youtube and notice ep 3 is up....
Its been made a private video.
I am never watching dvds after 6pm again....
Now excuse me while, i go hunting for screenshots....
And Sunrise is an australian live news program.... for those who don't know...
Okay, i'm back... and
I have found 4 screenshots of ep 3 so far...
one is interesting, (the others are just headshots jasmine, barda and gorl)
There is a picture of a woman, who i believe is jasmine's mum...
partically because she seems to be standing in some-sort of mist and doesn't really have any color to her besides, blues and whites.
So they still have the whole Jasmine, Topaz thing.
And judging by a report, we still hear Gorl's back story, and the lilies of life are still in it. They are white and gold btw...
Heh...about that, I sorta kinda can't remember the site's name, went through many links and search engines looking for a different site with the vids and came across it in the process.
Dang it! I was hoping to visit you tube before ep 3 got privated, at least the intro and endings haven't been removed, I like them.
I am very happy that they are keeping close to the story line, I feel that all the changes that have been made aren't too big of a deal. I'm also putting my dislike for the 3d on hold until I see it in action, "No first impressions." Thats my motto...well one of them.
okay... i've got another site... i think its the comic site actually...
but it has some pics of some monsters and stuff...
Hey guys, guess what i just found...
US, January 18, 2007 - With the DS clearly cemented as Japan's favorite game system, you knew the RPG and anime games were on the way. And with Deltora Quest, we're getting a bit of both. Set to be published by Bandai Namco in Japan, the Australian manga/anime/novel by the same name is on the way to the DS in the form of a 2D action RPG.
In Deltora Quest, you play as three characters, whom you're free to switch between at any time. The game's storyline begins when 7 precious gems are stolen, bringing the world under the control of a shadow king. The three characters, Lief, Jasmine and Barda head off to the 7 towers where the gems are apparently being hidden.
The game uses the stylus for all control. You use the stylus to move your character around and can perform dash and tackle moves. To attack enemies, you simply point to the enemy, and your character automatically moves in to attack using a variety of moves. Your attacks include combos and special moves, all character dependent.
Deltora Quest will likely get attention based off its license, as the series is popular in Japan. Bandai Namco isn't just making a quick cash-in. The game has some big talent behind it, including artwork by Yocky, and scenario work by Kazushige Nojima. Sound is being handled by Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for his work on Final Fantasy XII.
A Japanese release is set for Spring.

and also from pics that ive seen in del i allways thought that the villages were like right next the the palace walls but by the looks of them its like 1-2 miles away
and whats that thing on bardas forehead, i dont remember reading that he had a head band ( or whateva it is)
okay.... firstly...
they've screwed up a bit in the dialogue
~Errors~ (Possibly translation errors)
Quote:
Jarred: I guess you could call us friends, we were related. (In referring to Endon)
They've called the Maze of the Beast, the Cavern of Fear (which is no where near the coast line as we all know and doesn't show up until the beginning of series 2)
And they've called the Forests of Silence, The Maze of the Beast.
I am hoping this is a translation error
Oh and this is apparently the translation of the intro song...
When this door opens
A new world will begin
Painful experiences will show
But I will overcome them
Walking into this new world
Filled with hopes and dreams
This sensation says I’m ready
And no one can stop me
My heart springs to life
And flies away
As high as the sky
Aiming for success and the future
Someday I will fly
I believe it
So I will spread these wings
