The demand just isn't there. I went through all the posts for Alien movies in the "Movie Discussion" forums last night, and there honestly wasn't more than 3 pages over a years time. There are some in horror, naturally. Raz isn't going to waste bandwidth/forum space for a franchise that won't generate traffic.
I'm assuming the "hot" movies/franchises are featured. As time progresses, they'll get taken down. Tarantino's forum was knocked back down to a subforum recently. Looks like we're getting an all inclusive Sci Fi forum soon enough.
But a bigger Terminator forum? This is where the post count deal comes into play. It looks like a lot of support on the bottom, the number of pages, but for example, look at the "Terminator" forum thread under the "Suggestions" froum. It's mostly TPM agreeing with everyone's push for the forum, which has been minimal. Those won't count?
The Terminator franchise/universe is very simple, and "T3" was a fluke here in the States. There's nothing left to expand on, and that's why 1) any subsequent sequel will probably be non-canon, breaking protocol., 2) there's very little left to discuss, IMO. John Connor leads the Humans against the Machines. End of story.
I'm telling you, guys. Accept some natural double standards. It's nobodies fault but the KMC users that "Terminator" isn't more popular.

It depends what you classify as a "fluke" film and by what standards you are measuring the results of the film.
That is NOT "the end of story," according to the films it is not over after John leads the humans against the war of the machines. John dies years later and his kids play important or crucial roles in the war of the machines. If the studio wishes they can still produce a sequel or sequels to Terminator 4.
The context of the franchise. It's basic. Reece predicts the rise of the machines, John Connor leads the revolt. They can't make many more movies out of such a paper thin premise. Besides, Arnold will be too old for any more Terminator flicks, much less too busy, IMO. Not that the movies are what's being debated here.
Again, I just don't see the support for anything more than a subforum. In the meantime, link to the forum in your profile, spread the word, gain the forum some traffic.

I'm not going into discussion on whether or not its a good premise, I was only making it clear that there are possibilities of sequels after T4. Second, it doesn't matter if Arnold is too old or busy because he may have a small role in T4 and possibly no role in any future films after that.
I have seen plenty of support for it, but I suppose its a matter of oppinion. Yes I will place links in my profile and try to generate more traffic.

IMO it should switch places with the Matrix ot LotR, because they have stopped making movies, but Terminator is still going, so switch now
It's been what, 2 years since the last "Terminator", and probably atleast another 4 until the next? "The Matrix", yes, I totally agree needs to be dropped a notch. "LOTR" is still going strong, and with the buzz about "The Hobbit", and the EE DVD Trilogy being available, the possibilities are endless.
This is always going to be up to the descretion of Raz. It's not so much opinion as it is just a question of SUPPORT.

oh yeh i forgot about the hobbit, so move the matrix, its had its time, and now the next phase is retirement,
Your a mod, ur voice is heard more then mine, you must confront Raz
* Drop "The Matrix", from franchises, save it as a subforum for the Sci Fi forums.
* Throw Anime/Manga in the Artwork or Television Forums
* Put Horror Franchise in with the Movie Discussion Forums
* Merge the threads from Tarantino forums into Movie Discussion
* Save "Terminator" as a subforum for the future Sci Fi forum.
Those are amendments that would best serve the boards, IMO.

It has been only been 1 1/2 years since Terminator 3.
Sequels almost always take 2-4 years to be released after the film before it so its perfectly understandable if T4 is released 3-4 years after T3.

I'm aware, but it's irrelevant. What is relevant is that the franchise is in a slump, it's running the risk of being Arnie-less, thus less profitable, and there won't be another installment for a few years, so what makes you think it deserves main forum status? While I agree that a couple of the movies hosted need to be dropped, why throw ANOTHER idle franchise up there? That's just a double standard waiting to be exploited for the worse.
As somewhat of an experiment, I'm prepared to do this. I'll leave the "Blade" forum redirect note at the top over the weekend. On Monday, I'll replace it with a "Terminator" forum redirect, That way, of the people who participated and voted in your favor, on your poll, we'll see who actually frequents it. I'll generate your traffic, and we'll see exactly how successful the forum would be, since it will recieve wide exposure.

Sight seems to be lost on the fact that there IS a lack of traffic BECAUSE of the location. Which is WHY we are asking it to be moved as there is POTENTIALITY for a much more ACTIVE forum.
That is exactly the point, the location is a MAJOR factor of what detetermines the traffic, and if the KMC members can not find the forum and or if they don't know it exists, then guess what? There won't be much traffic.

* You should not have mentioned it if it was irrelevant.
* That is merely your personal oppinion saying, "it's running the risk of being Arnie-less, thus less profitable" or saying, "the franchise is in a slump." It is not actual fact so it shouldn't have a determining affect on Raz's ultimate choice.
* I suppose we will have to wait and see what the results of your "experiment" are then.

good ideas
* Merge the threads from Tarantino forums into Movie Discussion
they'll still be a forum though right?
* Save "Terminator" as a subforum for the future Sci Fi forum.
if it comes to that then the sci fi forum should be directly linked from the home page imo...
