The script, the storyline, the acting, the old woman appearing after she had died, i found all of these things ridiculous.
Eh, their mom reappearing was for effect, like the Jedi Spirits showing up at the end of ROTJ. She wasn't really there, obviously. Sorry you didn't like it, expecting gold from a bunch of guys that are new to acting.

"obviously" I knew that she was dead and reappearing for effect, and I didnt expect "gold", I knew it would be poor.
I get the impression that you liked it.
Me and my mates laughed so much throughout this film, and mostly at the parts that were not meant to be funny.
Nothing stereotypical about Elephant, unless you know of other movies that attempt to show, in an honest manner, without agenda, the happenings, and effects of a school shooting, without pretending to know the cause of them.
The film was purposely clueless, that's what made it unique and honest. It didn't attempt to give reason for the acts, as no one knows why exactly events like school shootings happen. It showed cold, cruel, and sad violence, without purpose or reason.
