Sorry, Lana, but the word 'Photoshopping' tends to mean exactly that. Fiddling with a pic, making it look in some way different. There's no need to slam her for using the word to describe what she's done to her photo. Her use of the word in no way demeans your efforts so why try to demean hers?

She used the damn program, therefore she 'photoshopped' it. You can hardly say she 'Paint Shop Pro'd' the pic can you??

Exactly, carelessness.
It's like someone walking around saying they're a fan of rock and roll because they like The All American Rejects. You like a band who play guitars, you don't like rock and roll. People's "I don't want my taste to be hurt" opinions not withstanding, there IS a difference. To call them a rock band is to put them with other real rock bands, which they are not. To call someone who arses about with a pic, a photo manipulator/shopper is to put them with those who take time and effort to do it, of which they are not one.
She fiddled with a pic, it doesn't equate to "photoshopping".

She ran it through a filter. That equates to moving the mouse to the Filter menu and clicking twice. I'd HARDLY call that Photoshopping as it requires no work, effort, or skill at all. There's a reason why filters are ridiculed when it comes to people who use Photoshop. As in, they require no work and don't even look good, and is highly obvious.
Photoshopping something is doing extensive work to it to make it look different. Filters don't do that, and usually they look quite poor as they can only do very limited things.

If you play a guitar are you, by default, making rock music? It all comes from the same strings, same instrument. So by your rationale it's the same...right? The answer is no.
Just like using photoshop does make you, by default, a real photoshopper.
I'll go paint my walls, it's paint from a brush upon a blank canvas, I guess I'm now an artist in the same hat as Picasso. Same thing, right?

comparing guitars and photoshop is slightly odd. i can see your point but still.
I filter an image on photoshop, am i photoshopping? yes. Does it make me a master photoshopper? No, but the image is photoshopped whether u like it or not.
i play some chords on a guitar, am i making music, yes. am i a master guitar player? no. still playing music, although amaturish
