PSP vs. DS : Which Will Be Better?

Started by Rhino26 pages

ya ur stuck with it, but i read that u can connect ur psp to ur tv, thats y the psp works as or comes with or can buy a dvd compatible remote(i read it somewhere). But i WOULD buy a movie specifically for watching it on the road or someplace...but thats me.

2nd, cartoons on a cartridge are for kids tho, u only get 1 or 2 episodes....once u watch it...for like, 1 hr or 30 mins, there is only a certain amount of time before u get bored of it.

this has nothing to do with what u said but umds are sorta discs, but they dont scratch easily, they have a hard cover on them i think...with a square that exposes the actual disc. my friend owns a sony mini disk player that looks like a umd, but a square shape, looks like a floppy disc with a mini cd inside.

I'd have to say the PSP

for the majority the PSP will be better

Game Informer were pretty one-sided towards the DS, they complained about its name because it wasnt bold enough...i guess PSP is the boldest name in consoles to them "Play Station Portable......BRILLIANT!!!!"

but for me, the DS is just amazing, i love the touch screen and the graphics, sure its launch titles arent great but i've read about their upcoming titles and they sound great

is the PSP using cd's?

no UMDs, but inside it looks like a mini cd

the DS coulda stuck to its roots and call itself the Gameboy DS, but there was also the gba SP

my point is calling a portable playstation "play station portable" isnt the most innovative name in the world

So?

did you read my 2nd last post?

Your PSP plugs into your tv?
Well wouldnt that make it a console. Whats the point of having the PSP for movies, if you just plug it in your tv. Why just watch a DVD?

your criticising a good feature? 😕

is criticising a good feature?

aslo, I call my Ds the gameboy Ds some times anyway, its not a big deal.

I've decided to mellow out and let psp fanboys keep ranting. both will be good, but it isn't going to be one big french revolution.

Like I've been saying for weeks: Give it time. Wait until it comes out. Then wait a couple of weeks after its release. We don't know the future. Anything can happen.

The only thing about the PSP is the battery time. If it is over 5 hrs., then I'd say no question that it is better than the DS.

It last about 7 to 12 hours.

That's a lie.

Ign.com

7 to 12 hours for what use?
Other publications has stated they have seen battery life that lats up to 90 minutes.
I don't see it worthwhile to get movies on the PSP. I dont see the point. I dont want to spend extra money for the technology if i dont see a reason for using it.

90 minutes? Very doubtful. Even for hardcore use. For what use? What publication?

Some people want different uses for different things. Things are becoming multifeature. It's inevitable. Even Nintendo got sucked into it. (From Robo Chocobo's sig). And the PSP is going to be the somewhere near the same price as the DS. We all have different tastes.

Yea it isnt 90 mins more but less then 7 hours. You dont believe me pick up a recent PSM mag all they talk about is the Psp and all the features.

Check Gamespot. Check this article. http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-11721-1344-4-4-x

Ill give you an segment of it.
"Based on our estimates and a few battery-draining tests, Ridge Racers seems to last somewhere between 90 minutes and three hours. Playing with the wireless networking switch flipped on will also further reduce your battery life."

And Draco, your full of @@@@. I check Ign. com, and check out that battery life feature for the PSP. So, they came to a conclusion about the battery life for the PSP. A full hard performance test gave the PSP 3 hours, 32 minutes of battery life. With local wireless connection enabled its around 2 hours, 46 minutes. So where is the 7 - 12 hours you got there Draco.
Well, you can use as a mp3 player for 10 hours, 40 minutes. So your wrong.
Oh here's the article if you want to check it again.
