This happens in ALL LCD screens. One common technique is to rub the screen (where the dead pixel is) to life. It works sometimes. However the screen is very fragile so be careful. Do this at your own risk. Just wait in my opinion. If it really bothers you then reimburse it for a new PSP. They will test it for dead pixels.
well, you can get a movie player which allows to play films on compact flash cards, and the good thing about them is that rather than having to buy your new films on umls like the psp, you can simply convert the dvds you currently have onto flash cards and watch them on that, and you get can, what they are calling standard compression, 120 minutes of films on a 256mb card, and they are very good quality, and when you have finishing watching that film, or want another one, you can simply remove that film from the card and convert another one on there, its very good since you dont have to rebuy all of your films on a new media, you can simply just convert your existing ones, i have one and would highly recommend it, i converted 2 hours of simpsons on there and watch it at college, its sound and video qaulity was surprising good. and anyway, the psp cant play dvds, it can just play umls.
The PSP suffers from a common LCD problem: Dead pixels. The thing here is, that as much as we'd like to blame Sony, this problem will never go away. As long as there is a shortage of LCDs and both Sony and Nintendo are forced to buy whatever Panasonic and Samsung throw at them, this problem will always be there.

well you say that, but how many problems have you heard of that happening on the ds, now i havent actually heard that many at all, and one that i heard, the bloke contacted nintendo, and they told him to send them ds back to them, and they pay for all the shipping to do so, and within 3 days, he received a brand new ds. The fact is that panasonic and nintendo make good quality items, i mean a while ago i heard that it was 6% of PSP's that this was happening to...i mean 6% is an awful lot, i have only heard a couple of cases for this happening to the DS, so you cant really use that as an excuse.

The DS has significantly less pixels than the PSP. It's quite obvious. Look at the screens. The PSP has a huge screen. The DS has two small screens that even when put together. The PSP has nearly three times as much pixels than the DS. It's no comparision. The PSP as stated before has a phenomanal amount of pixels. 16.77 million to be precise. 1-6 dead pixels out of 16.77 million is truly amazing. People try to compare other LCDs like Tvs or computers, but to no avail:
1) The screen is thicker than the PSP. Thicker screen makes dead pixels less prevalent. If the PSP had a thick screen it would weigh much more than it should be. Not to mention it would be much more expensive.
2) The PSP is held about 6 inchs to a foot from your face. With this line of sight you are bound to see dead pixels. Other LCD screens like Plasmas or laptops are not seen that close. You would REALLY have to look for them.
3) Price. If the PSP spent an incredible amount of money to make a perfect LCD screen it would be incredibly expensive. Around the price for a laptop or plasma television. New technology cost more.
Comparing the DS and PSP for dead pixels is really fruitless since they are completely different animals.
well you say that, but its pretty obvious that you are pro-PSP as it were =/ you seem to be sticking up for it quite a bit, and putting up all of them reviews from ONE site, and using that as the font of all knowledge, and using that saying the PSP games are better than the DS's, however i am sure there are many other sites that review the DS games and PSP games and say the DS ones are better.
Rationally, the Nintendo 64 version was revolutionary for videogaming history. It introduced elements never before seen in a videogame. It was a instant classic. Of course it got 9.7
Super Mario DS is almost the same but with inclusion of new characters. However the controls suffer (touchpads as analog never works) and it's more of the same. It's fun. However if you played SN64 you pretty much played the same thing. Remakes of original games never do as well as the original. It deserved that score.

I'm pro-fun.. anything thats good I'll play it... currently my interests have veered towards Lumines... I love music mixxed genres (like REZ for dreamcast). But I dont like wrestling, rice-boy racing and sports games.. other than that Im pretty open minded about gaming
