I watched Paul Anderson's Soldier (1998). It's a manly sci-fi cheese fest. But what can I say, I was a sucker for it. The visual effects and atmosphere are actually pretty cool. Plus you get a stunning performance from Kurt Russel (stunningly wooden, lol). I'm telling ya, as long as Paul Anderson doesn't write it, it can be pretty good.

I really liked Soldier. Maybe because of a kind of hero worship I have of Kurt but the film was a fun romp.

Along Came a Spider
The Factory
Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol.Yay. 😄
Only seen Ghost Protocol, it was ok.
Will watch Red Lights though as per your recommendation. Great cast and interesting plot. Currently watching Season 3 of Fringe and am into this vibe of storytelling.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Last night watched Mutant aka Forbidden World a sequel to Roger Corman's Galaxy of Terror. Another response to the film Alien.
I enjoyed it. It's fascinating watching these films and seeing how James Cameron just upped the notch slightly to create his classics.
It's fascinating that the idea of life without producers like Roger Corman and directors like Bruce D. Clark and Allan Holzman NOT influencing films like The Terminator and Aliens.
Alien is obviously the precursor to these films. But I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on the evolution of Sci-Fi Action Horror throughout the years. Or has any recommendations. Send them my way.

Same with me. I just watched it because it was on streaming Netflix. "The Gift" is pretty good too, Cate Blanchett, Greg Kinnear, Katie Holmes, Keanu Reeves. It's much calmer than Red Lights... but still a recommendation. Cate Blanchette seems to not participate in crappy movies. Dunno if it's because she's on the set or if she just picks good ones.

There was a rumour a while back that Kurt Russell was approached to possibly play Batman & that Soldier was a "dummy run".
Fight scenes in Soldier...Russell hiding in the shadows & crashing through the roof was very reminiscent of Batman's moves.

Kurt Russell as Nolanverse Batman.......interesting. He wasn't that old at the time. But the right choice was made in the end.

You can take that "Nolanverse" & shove it. The dude didn't even have a name for himself when Soldier was made.
I'm not a Nolan Hater...I just wasn't that impressed with what he did with Batman.

Isnt that a show on HGTV?
Sounds like it, doesn't it? IDK, I don't have cable, so I haven't watched HGTV in a while. 😛
Tonight I watched The Blair Witch Project [was too young to go when it came out, and you can't rent it anywhere...]
And "To Die For" with Nicole Kidman - such a good movie!! 😄
