Its a decent horror showhaven't read the series of novels its based on, So i wouldn't know what's been changed and what not.
I've started season 2 and it's simultaneously better and worse so far... heh
Hannibal (2001)
I purchased this as I seemed to recall a film that came out involving Dr. Lecter that wasn't Red Dragon and wasn't the god awful Hannibal Rising. I noticed it's place in my collection and decided to play it, and lo and behold its quite and odd and grotesque film. Ridley honored the source material with as much as he could cram in 2 hours, and some memorable moments being the tension between Starling/the Doctor, Hannibal recounting portions of Dante's inferno, and the themes of romance, corruption, and revenge. Its so odd how Mason's character seems to echo to Snoke 15 years later (in appearance), and the scene where Gary Oldman talks about serving Hannibal to pigs is glorious. The scene where Hannibal serves up Ray Liota's brains hasn't particularly aged well due to the CGI, but overall the film was a unique and at times charming movie. Not quite on par with either of its predecessors, but I'm glad I picked it up. 7/10
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) 5.5/10
Shredder and Krang are more or less glorified cameos, and the lack of action makes this film suffer. It did improve on aspects of the first film like cutting out a lot of cringe worthy dialogue, minimizing Meghan Fox, and keeping the film mainly about the brothers- and the scenes with Bebop and Rocksteady as well as the inclusion of Krang/Casey Jones will please longtime fans. But they really just go around and collect the pieces for the Technodrome, and the movie just kind of meanders through those aforementioned seeking/finding scenes. Splinter, Shredder, and Krang appear for like 2-4 scenes each, and really serve the purpose of just advancing the anticlimactic fight scene in the Technodrome. I mean Krang was less of a challenge than Shredder was in the previous film, and his voice actor is kind of a letdown. It improves in some ways over the first film, but lags behind in others. Hopefully, the 3rd film they finally get it right
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Amusing and entertaining. DAFOE & GOLDBLUM!! I absolultely loved the way it was filmed. I may actually become an admirer of Wes Anderson. His films aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but my god he's apparently a genius behind the camera visually. The way he frames shots and moves the camera is extremely mesmerizing.

Yeah, it's not a bad film. I think it's just disappointing because the original Silence of the Lambs is so good. There was no way to live up to that.
