Oh, I did watch The Nice Guys the other day. It was quite good. Pretty funny and good character chemistry. Russel Crowe really has let himself go, though.. yeesh.

It's already one of my favorite movies. Probably the hardest I've laughed at a movie in a few years too. The last movie that made me laugh that hard was...I think it was This Is The End.

Glad to see someone enjoyed The Nice Guys movie, I found it overall meh.

What about it didn't you like?

There was something missing from the movie, For it to be actually good.

Ghost in the Shell
Requiem for the American Dream
Cave of Forgotten Dreams
Who Took Johnny?

All great documentaries, though Requiem was a bit of a soapbox for Chomsky. Some of what he was saying made sense namely the stuff about the banking collapse/government bailouts being consistent since the 80s. Ghost in the Shell was solid if suffering from bad voice actors, and at times being needed to clarify some of the jargon/exposition.

The latest Magnificent Seven again. Heck of a good western.

Starship Troopers-- very, very enjoyable film.

Starship Troopers 3--Maraduer.

Preparations for the upcoming war, dear subjects.

I didn't care for the plot/story or whatever it was, but I didn't care too much because it was just an excuse to have the fun humor and action. The characters' chemistry and humor more than made up for it. Looking forward to seeing what Shane Black does with the new Predator film. Hope he keeps up the quality.

John wick 2 (advanced screening) -amazing, gun fights are better than the first

One is a personal favorite, it helped my kids deal with my first wartime deployment.
3 is pretty good as we got to see the book's armor finally.

Got tickets for Saturday. Can't fu#cking wait. Rewatched John Wick the other night in preparation. So good.

Escape From New York (1981)

I'm sure it was kind of cool for its time, but I honestly found it quite boring and a bit dated, especially the music.

Next (2007)

Nicolas Cage. Entertaining until the end. Then it sucked donkey balls. Jessica Biel is hot as f#ck in it, though.

Bringing Out The Dead (1999)

Martin Scorsese & Nicolas Cage. A match made in heaven. Actually a pretty entertaining dark comedy and with Scorsese's masterful touch he makes it very engaging despite the lack of plot. However, the film is still probably about 20 minutes too long.

From memory the novel it's based on kinda dragged on a bit too.
It felt like the author was having an existential crisis whilst writing it & I think Cage & Scorsese captured that feeling/revelation pretty well.

There's a big difference between Cage acting crazy to Cage's crazy acting these days.

Yeah hilarious film. Black always creates good chemistry between his leads.

Nah Crowe's good. He's the type of actor who intentionally bulks up, whether it's muscle or fat for he roles he plays. It wouldn't look right looking fit whilst playing a down & out two-bit PI.

Yeah, I actually thought it was really good, aside from being a little too long. I think it's an extremely underrated black comedy.

Yeah Nice Guys uses the same "buddy formula" as Kiss Kiss.

There's one particular hilarious scene in KKBB with RDJ...
Won't say more until you watch it.

Best Line in Good Guys. " I started drinking again and I feel much better".
