Never heard of this.
I’m a Radcliffe/Weaving fan though. Gotta check this out.

Green Lantern.

As bad as literally everything was, the part that got me the most was this idea that Hector Hammond was a "loser".

He was a professor with a PHD and presumably published works, not some guy digging ditches or flipping burgers.

Also see Mayhem (2017) with Samara Weaving if you haven't already.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but believe it or not it's possible to be relatively successful but still feel insecure. As I recall he looked like kind of a dweeb and probably didn't get laid much.

Knockaround Guys (2001)

With the exception of Dennis Hopper being somewhat under-used, I actually rather enjoyed this. It doesn't try to be more than it needs to be. It's a solid little mobster/crime thriller. 8/10.

The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. Saw it long ago, and I decided to watch it again. Supposedly critics hated the movie, and after watching it again, I don’t know why.

The movie wasn’t trying to be deep, it had Eddie’s style of humor, and the cgi though corny wasn’t bad.

Best of all Charles Dance played a magnificent villain.

Malignant (2021) was probably the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life.

I would be furious if I had actually paid money to see it.

went and saw Shang Chi

Thanks for the recommendation!
Now I have two movies to check out.

And you’re right about success and insecurity.
PPL like that keep therapists in business.

Most ppl I know who remember this movie only ever do so because of Vin Diesel’s monologue slash beat down he delivered in the bar.
But I liked the movie as a whole. It was pretty entertaining.

Not a terrible reboot of Leon The Professional, but it will do for now.

That was good, too. I watched it a couple months ago.

Had another movie night with a couple friends. This time the double-feature was...

King of New York (1990)

This was really poorly written and edited. It may have been edited the way it was to try to hide the bad writing and poor character development. BUT there was a saving grace. Larry Fishburne (yes, that's how he was credited for this) played a pretty entertaining gangster. And of course Christopher Walken was pretty awesome, too. 😂 When I learned of this movie a couple months ago I was like, "How the fu#k have I not heard of this??" Well, sadly it really isn't very good. 5/10

Nightbreed (1990)

From Clive Barker. It literally made almost no sense whatsoever. BUT Clive did show off some nifty monsters with practical make-up and prosthetics n' shit. The only problem is that they didn't turn down any ideas! It was all put in the movie! There was a decent idea here somewhere, but dear lord it wasn't done right. 4/10

Good movie; they did a nice job world building. I’d like to see a sequel of some kind.

The Old Ways
Malignant

Watched 'Parasite' recently, and although I haven't actually seen any of the films it beat out for best picture I think it's probably deserved. I've loved all of Bong Joon-Ho's prior films for their uniqueness and absurdism and this was no exception. The best I've heard it described is as a more perfect version of Snowpiercer. Highly recommended.

Nobody (2021) 9/10

Pretty good. A poor man's Jack Reacher.

YouTube video

The Client 0/10 (2021)

Jake Gyllenhaal, The Guilty was so bad. Waste of download space.

Cinderella The Musical (2021)

0/10 WTF was this? Why'd I wanna watch this?

Maybe I'm just picking bad movies.

I just watched this. LOL, not what I was expecting, like, at all, in terms of a reveal, but I had fun! 😱
