Last Movie You Saw? (Theater/Home)

CONFESS, FLETCH

Struggling actor Tom Hamm nails it as Fletch (great line delivery and snark); great performances by everyone involved really, even the one scene wonders.
I liked this better than the Chevy Chase outings tbph.

It was great that in the end Fletch didn't turn out to be the smartest guy in the room but, he did get the smartest ppl thinking outside the box in regards to the case.

^^^Its weird; the movie’s BAD, but I didn’t HATE hate it. The banter between the various vets was entertaining, Olivia Munn was easy on the eyes and comedically solid as always. Too bad this group wasn't in a different movie.

And that Predator suit at the end god that awful. 😘

I mean, I agree that it has a certain amount of entertainment value. But so much of the dialogue is cringy AF, and the terrible plot lines about saving humanity from climate change and autism being an evolutionary step is just embarrassingly idiotic and nonsensical.

^^^I'm w. you on most of this (suuuuuch an awful plot) though I had to erase the cheesy gif as I don’t believe in that idiocracy. 👆

The Invitation (2022) 2/10

Upon this review this gave me dejavu----Ready or Not 2019, this is the exact same film only with a few slight differences. In Ready or Not the rich families owe their wealth to the devil. In the movie, The Invitation the rich families owe their wealth to Dracula. So, I must give this movie a 2/10. Nothing original. Very basic elements of a horror story, no real story here.

Yeah, I use the Cancelled gif facetiously. I think it should be ridiculed, not cancelled. Hell, that's the very essence of bad movie nights that I have with my friends! If everything was cancelled there would be nothing to watch! 😂

^^^Thank Jebus, I thought you’d devolved into one of those ppl! 😱

A Thousand Years of Longing

8/10

Good movie. Orginal story, good cgi. Good acting.
When it comes to shooting ancient scenes and backdrops a lot of these movies have the same narrative. You see this in movies like Aladdin, American Gods, immortals---a classical almost romantic take on what ancient worlds looked like. The stylizing is the same.

I'm looking forward to watching that when I get a chance to with my wife. From Mad Max genius George Miller. And I happen to really like Idris Elba.

You talking about the genie movie?
I’m actually interested in catching that one. I love me some Tilda Swinton.

Wait, I thought it was called Three Thousand Years of Longing?

The Faculty (1998)

Hadn't seen it since back in the day. It actually holds up reasonably well after all these years. The familiar young faces are fun. Looking back you can tell Robert Rodriguez was (and is) a skilled filmmaker.

That's the one I fell asleep at 20mins in. Maybe I should have watched the one thousand years version. Damn it.

Yeah. 3,000 years is way too damn long. Studios really are allowing filmmakers to go a little crazy with their runtimes, aren't they?

Finally got around to seeing No Time To Die.

I really, really, really liked it. Reminded me a lot of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Bullet Train

I found Bullet Train to be decent! not Brad Pitt's best work but not the worse regardless. Here is my link to the free movie!

Send me a message if you want to get the free link to the full movie!

Badlands.

Why is a ****ed up movie like this considered a classic? 😱

Sissy Spacek was cute though.

It was interesting. I liked it. Would I watch it again? Probably one more time but not a third time.

You say genius, but the last Mad Max was honestly pretty bad.

Then again that series peaked at The Road Warrior, and I felt Beyond Thunderdrome was their version of Rocky 4, e.g. inferior to Rocky 1, 2, and 3 in spite of decent moments.

I'm all about original scripts so will see it for that.

If you're referring to Fury Road, then you're clearly insane and your taste in movies should never be trusted.

Ouch, why not say what you really feel? 😱

But yeah, was disappointed in Fury Road. Actually prefer Waterworld, bad as it is.
