USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE II (LIGHT SIDE)- Arms Race

"The force could not possibly be imitated, its too loose... Too open for interpretation. Also A droid could not come close to blocking a blaster bolt, we have to see into the immediate future to predict where the bolt will last, even if a droid could make the immediate calculations it couldn't stop more that a few at a time."

"Well..." says Cannes. "We will just have to call that a difference of opinion, won't we? I think you will be surprised what a droid could manage..."

"I think you'd be suprised at what I could manage."

Xeth marches off after the droid, slightly annoyed that Cirus would even consider mass-producing lightsabers for use by droids. Especially droids manufactured by someone like Ryamore. They would be on the black market so fast that Xeth would be fighting lightsaber droids instead of the regular gumf.

*Delfedd, seeing that Xeth is leaving, hurrys off after him. He whispers to Xeth* Did you get the feeling he didn't quite understand that what he doing was wrong? like... the union used him?

"I think you'd be suprised at what I could manage."

"Why would the ability of a Jedi surprise me? You are famed for such things."

Sea-Four has heaeed to the comms array, Xeth. He passes inside, but the doorway is guarded by two battle droids.

"Mmm, no entry..." the yellow-striped one says, exhibiting the characterisitc droid buzz.

Delfedd says "Why?"

"Mm, only Techno-Union personnel are allowed within operational areas."

"Cirus, did you ever hear about the incidents on Damagran about two years ago?" Xeth walks up to the yellow-striped command droid. "I cut up about fifty of these flimsy things..."

"Oh, there you are," says Cirus, as you call over to him. He walks over. "Well, my Mark IIs are destroying thousands of them. It's not as if we have a resourcing problem with them. What point were you trying to make?"

Delfedd whispers to Xeth "It may not be wise to threaten the guy who has thousands of droids to 'test' on us, not that i'm wise or anything. They probably have fifty thousand of them here. Also... he's never done anything to us. He'll let us see carlan when he's ready. I mean, what if he's in a buisness meeting or something?"

"I don't care what he's doing," Xeth says to Delf, so that Cirus cannot hear.

"Oh, no point really. I just didn't like having a maniacal criminal get his hands on so many!"

"Possibly, but Reputation never really conveys the full effect of the real thing."
*striding over to where Xeth and everyone else is*

Clarion moves over next to Master Marcus. "I wonder what all the stalling is about. Perhaps they are in the process of hiding a few things away while we are busy here?"

"Oh, no point really. I just didn't like having a maniacal criminal get his hands on so many!"

"Nor would I," says Cirus, "but unless you are intending to ban all weapons Galaxy-wide, I really don't see how that pertains to anything.

"But to help allay your worries... we do now have an inherent security protection system with our droid armies. As you all know, I am sure, these armies need a central control unit to function properly. These units all now come with a tracer that is all but impossible to discover, let alone remove, without disrupting the function of the control unit. So, should an army find its way into disreputable hands, we can now trace its location and the appropriate authorities can do something about it.

The door opens, and Seafour waddles back out again.

"I am afraid I was unable to establish contact with Director Ryamore at this time," he says. "I have contacted the other Sales Directors, and the Chairman himself, and I shall be receiving news on his current whereabout shortly."

"My," says Cirus. "How inconvenient. I do apologise. I am sure this little issue will all be sorted out soon. Until then, please feel free to wander around the demonstration grounds, see things in action, or ask me any questions you have. Perhaps, in Ryamore's absence, I can answer some of your questions on the wider issues that concern you in this case? It is, as you say, a large and important case, and I have been to Neimodia myself a number of times."

"Well sure, what can you tell me about the general politics of Neimodia? and why would anyone want to murder the vice -roy his cousin?"

"There isn't a single important member of the Trade Federation that several less important ones do not seek to assassinate, which I feel answers both queries," says Cannes. "Those Neimodians... they have a killer market instinct. But it rather unfortunately carries over to their promotion structure as well."

Delfedd says *hm, i think we should meet this sales director"

"That might be very well the case Clarion, but there is very little we can do about it." (ush can you tell me wether or not we can actually force the TU to be able to speak with Carlan right now?) "I don't think we can push this too hard"

It's a criminal offence to refuse to turn up to interview with you if you have grounds to believe that they can help you in an investigation; it is called Obstruction.

Question is, how far do you think is far enough to make pushing the point worth it?
