And are there any orders on these droids in the near future? I do realise that you are not a director of sales but I hope you will be able to provide me with this basic information, before I move onto more technological questions."
"Our largest buyers are Corporate interests. Simple specialisation of purpose- why should they expend resources to construct things that they can instead buy from us? That's inefficient. Hence the reason the Mining and Commerce Guilds, Banking Clans, and Trade Federation buy from us. I guess they are our biggest customers; the 'Outer Regions' are a larger sales area but are really millions of smaller parts."
"That depends how you mean," says Cannes. "Basic bionics as part of medicine have been with us for millennia and are always popular. That's artificial limbs and the like- accidents sadly happen.
"There are other possibilities for more hi-tech uses of such technologies, but they are still develoomental, and we are uncertain of demand."
"On the Galactic market? Not that I know of. Some worlds dedicate far more effort to this kind of thing, though. There are some worlds where such augmentation is the norm.
"In theory, the technolgoy can be extedned to chips that can improve reactions, reflexes, mental acuity... or even for emotional contro.. Limiter chips can override violent impulses to treat people with violent mental disorders, for example."
