USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE II (DARK SIDE)- In the Coils of the Serpent

"Your loss" says the Compere.

Not that he is keeping you in the ring- as he says, you are business now, and the bookies are working out a decent match to make money with.

Takuan, nope, you are a way away. Like I said, using Empathy you can pick the ambience of the bar you want (within reason), so pick the type of guy in the type of place in the type of frame of mind that you want!

-

Helkin takes a dodge, Rianna, and your blow just misses him.

"Somehow," he says, "I don't think that will suffice against what is coming..."

He sterps back, and three more Osokans step out from the side corridor to be in front of him. The one behind you has pulled out the lightsabre from its stomach, and another three are approaching up the corridor from that way as well, trapping you.

"Leave the bits for the rats..." says Helkin, strolling away.

-

Rand, you JUST manage to roll out of the way, as the body crumples slowly to the ground, buffered by your Lift.

You stand in the blueish light emanating from the viewing ports in the great stone dome above you; the Arena is still full of foes...

And you can't seem to see where Doon is.

"They looked annoyed," he says.

very well
Takuan's looking for a latarnan servant who would dislike them, who knows things of what happens around, how the family interracts with one another..and would know where such a thing of great prestige as the stone would be kept.
He would also be afraid of speaking to his masters about having been interrogated by a certain individual, because he would know that his masters don't think him important enough to be listened to.
also...he would not be too strong minded
speciffic enough? 😛

rianna he is not there....hide your lightsaber because someone will see it. and just try walking through him, to convince your character it's an illusion.

i can see ush now having a guy tell jena: there's a crazy chick down there waving a lightsaber in the air 😛

That'll do... and what approach will you take to getting info?

Takuan would be this mysterious outsider from a distant cell, here with business at the citadel. he would discretely (outloud though) state his complaints about where the organisation is heading..and engage the individual in a conversation

So prioritising Lying over Persuasion, ok?

not necessarily....i'd use both

Then you want to re-word what you are doing; your presented scenario works thusly.

very well..i want to lie about my identity and persuade him to tell me the things i want to know

Perusade him how?

a) with my skill
b) mindtricks

No no no

(and I'll warn again about being exposed for the second)

What approach are you taking to try and talk him into giving up secrets?

((Hey - sorry, I've been away at a juggling convention, and my net was down yesterday...

Ush, I read what I missed, but is there anything specific Tanic is doing?))

! Not an excuse one hears often!

Nope- you are free to pursue whatever lead or idea you want inside the citadel, Tanic. Rand's orders are to go forth and bring him info.

I'm gonna pretend like i actually know some things...and let him naturally complement my speech. some thing like that

Tanic goes to find a group of low-ranking Citadel enforcers(ie family guards), preferably those who are already intoxicated by something, and engaged in a shooting competition...

See, basicaly, Takuan, there is a fine line between between talking someone into giving out info, and tricking them into it.

If you are basically going to convince him it is in his best interests to tell you this stuff, when obviously it actually is not, that's Lying.

If it actually IS in his best interests, and you need to show him why, that's Persuade

If you couldn't care less about best interest and just want to force it out, it is Intimidate.

That is why Persuade is by default a Jedi skill. it is easier to Persuade than to lie, but you can only persaude peoplke about things that are actually so.

Actually, unlike fist fights, of which there are unofficial as well as official, there seems to be rather more regulation about shooting in the Citadel; the Guards take a genocidal view of it. People really can get hurt.

So the shooting all seems to be about games of skill, some of which look quite intriguing...

Yep, that's what I was hoping for - Wouldn't want to kill my sources of information...

Any sort of examples, Ush?

If not, Tanic will head to the one that requires the most skill - does he have any credits on him?

But of course the hardest one!

Republic credits aren't much good out here, but you have some small change of various sorts. You guys are gneerally strapped for cash, what with overheads; you normally steal what you need but it is a spartan life.

Hmm. What you have here, Tanic, is some sort of one man shooting gallery, which does not appear to be very big- some sort of vis-screen you stand up against, using a gun built into the unit. It is being aggressively hawked by the Rodian that you assume owns it, and loudly proclaims a 5000 credit jackpot for anyone who beats it.

The disconcerting bit is the dead bodies around it, being casually dragged away by a Gammorean.
