USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE II (DARK SIDE)- In the Coils of the Serpent

Started by Trickster215 pages

Tanic wanders up to the man, peering at the gallery. Turning to the Rodian, he asks,
"So, what do we do with this beast?" Grinning, he continues, "And how much does it cost?"

"Ha ha! Another man to take on the challenge of Gambit? How brave this human must be! 10 credits to practice, 100 credits for a proper game, win three rounds for real and the prize is yours, if youu dare to try..."

Gotta go for now folks- back later!

"Well then, my friend, I shall have a practice," Tanic flashes his teeth and runs a hand through his hair, "May I know what my aim is, or is that part of the surprise?"

I'll need a decision on whether to dodge or not, I am afraid, Rah! Can't make an attack whilst under attack... err, unless you have a power that says otherwise, of course.

Why cant I parry? I thought to parry was to defend and opponants attack into an attack against them. 😕

Oh well Rah will dodge left...

Rah follows his dodge with viscious nerve strike to Scremens ribs.

i see..then i guess i'll be prioritising lying, yes.

So called 'Reflex attacks' need a specific power to work- you used Riposte against the Osokans.

Sreman rolls -2, a miss, and then tries to dodge your Nerve Strike but a +3 from you gets him in the solar plexus! Nine damage there.

Rah: 12(3)/0/5

Sreman: 2/9/6

-

Sreman, recovering, then sneaks in a quick jab to your side, Rah- a Channelled blow.

---

"The aim is simple, my friend, This is a quick draw contest. Out draw your virtual opponent three times in a row, and you win!

"The surprise comes here..." says the Rodian, poitning to a small hole under the display screen. "Let your opponent shoot first... and the shot is for real! Already illegal in over 98% of the Inner Worlds! Of course, on the practice setting, we leave that bit out..."

---

As it turns out, Takuan, your roll was so good that the question was moot!

You actually spend your time hanging out with one of Bora's bodyguard. They are a permanently tetchy lot, because as Heir Bora has to watch his position in case one of his siblings decides that the main line should belong to THEM... so they drink rather a lot when off-duty to relive the pressure.

From your cajolings, you get this:

- The Serpent is losing money. True, the Republic is tightening up these days, and Hutt competition is fierce, but even so, it is losing more than it should. Central control is slipping- most likely the various cells (particularly their leaders) are keeping more than they are due. Vigo is coming under fire for being a better criminal than administrator, for letting them get away with this. His answer to the problems, when it comes, is likely to be genocidal, which if not handled right could seriously hamper the Serpent for a lomg time

- As Doon intimated, feeling is that Bora is NOT the way forward for the Serpent- like his Dad in all the unhelpful ways, and not even as good at them. This makes the bodyguard extra twitchy.

- Mika, next brother down, is VERY pushy and ambitious, and he's not dumb either. If only he was more strongly built, he's probably have all the support he would need to secure the line for himself. Even so, a lot of people are looking to him for the future.

- Yago is getting worse, and only Lantarnan traiditon has kept him alive- that and that he is too pointless to kill.

- Deva gave up on powergaming ages ago, and just spends his time in endless leisure activities. Mind you, this does make him an effective liasion with corrupt Republican authorities, even though that is technically Mika's job.

- Jena... everyone is scared of Jena, but Serpent tradition is against a woman becoming too powerful. Everyone is pretty sure she never made an attempt to knock off Bora, on the grounds that he is still alive- as far as people know, anyone who stood in her way never lived long. She's quite something, and has brought the Serpent a lot of power.

- But other than 'upstairs', little clue as to where the tablet is.

-----

Ok, Galder, they think they might have an opponent for you...

Tanic, not speaking, hands over the 10 credits for the game.

EDIT - Practice game

((Presumably any jedi would be quite good at this game... Though I get the impression that to win would mean I would be killed anyway... Ah well!))

Ok, Tanic- to play, you have to step onto the podium, which energises it., You cannot move your feet during the draw, but you can adjust where the holster is to suit you...

Okay, Tanic will move the holster so it is in place of his normal holster (the empty one), which he moves around to his back.

He will use this practice run, not to beat the computer, but to try and sense if it is physically possible for him to beat the computer.

He steps onto the podium.

Rah discreetly uses Sidestep to just get out of the way

He attacks with another nerve strike to Sremens spine

Ok, a simulated opponent is created in front of you, Tanic...

This contest involves a combination of your gun skill, Agility and Speed!

Double wanring for you there, Rah

1. Sidestep isn't a dodge, it increases your toughness for a sequence

2. It's a force power- a continuous one at that. it puts you at risk of exposure.

"Let me at him," Galder says, flexing and stretching again after that last run in with Treman. "I am hoping this will be more difficult..."

"No..." Rand mutters. "It can't be..."

He forces himself from looking to the ground, where he knows his dead Padawan must lie. Mustn't look...

So Ushgarak, how is Gallador`s conversation going?

Did you answer my question to you, Melkor?

-

Galder, the guy they have you up against is pretty fit looking, and seems to be practicing with two short iron bars that he wields...

-

"You know," says Doon, as the foes close in, "I can't help thinking that that showeed a certain deficiency in your leadership style..."

Ok rah will just dodge but he will put a little judicial combat push behind his next blow

I am okay with having to make rolls.

~REX was here~

"Hmm..." Galder looks to the Compere. "Any weapons I can use?"
