Are you planning to do anything useful, Takuan? You are currently in an area of failure with Yago, and such failings are not well looked upon in the Dark Side!

awh....i got what i wanted from him. him getting me upstairs was just a bonus for me...that's why i gave up so easily. didn't know..i doubt i can approach him again without seeming too interested in him. i'll think of something

"Personally, I think Lord Geful has lost his mind, along with everything else without that money he used to have," Rand replies. "It was not a matter of benefit, more a matter of inflicting some sort of chaos upon the Serpent. Lord Geful considered destroying your father's heir chaotic...for the moment."

"But no worries, Lord Geful and the Empire are no threat to you, now that you have us..."

"Well, unless Vigo falls over dead, no!" says one of them. "Anyway, even if he died tomorrow, it would be months before a coronation. There's a lot of ceremony involved. No, nobody is getting it out of the vault.. even Vigo himself hasn't seen it since the coronation."

"In fact, people trying to get it legitimately over time," says another "have gotten themselves killed trying to retrieve it. Security on it is rather serious,"

"Yeah I can imagine! From what I gather, those Sith artifact are somewhat hard to come across..."
Rah takes a casual sip of his drink
"So have there been many attempts by people trying to get into the vault. I mean just the wierd/poisonous fukin atmosphere you guys have here must deter most would be thieves."

(Rand, are you totally trying to destroy my contact 😛 ?)

(Seems like it, Trick, but you can always get a new one... 😛 )

To put your mind at rest- that won't be a problem. Yago's too dumb to actually think about why you might be interested in him.

Frankly, you'll be surprised what you van get away with with him. To quote the old joke about women giving hints to men- subtle hints will not work. Quiet hints will not work. Obvious hints will not work. JUST TELL US!

-

Trick not talking without foundation there- you guys could run his contact into severe trouble if you give out too much. Merits can be lost.

"Most people who would steal the tablet but are not Serpent members don't know where the Citadel is anyway," says one of the men. "Plenty IN the Serpent have thought that way before, and to them the atmosphere is no problem. But the security is reputedly unbeatable. I understand that no trace of any intruder in there has ever been found."

(Not just that, he'll be pissed and probably'll send assassins or the like after me/us)

"But surely to make that sort of claim there must be custodians to the tablet?"

"No-one other than the Lantarnans themselves, and right now, other than Vigo only Bora has any real idea."

"In theory," says another."

"Heh, yeah, in theory. But the systems are automated. No-one knows how they work, really."

(Someone say "No-one?" 😛 )

... ok...

"Very well," says Jena. "Well now, we have an interesting issue. I know your lies, which can have you destroyed. I also have your man Galder, who could very easily die of his injuries. For that matter, I also have enough explosive attached to your ship to blow out half the landing bay, and it only takes a moment to activate, as it will so also if I am in any way harmed in the near future.

"I just wanted to make some points clear before we began negotiations."

Rand frowns heavily at the unfairness of it.

"Where is Galder?" Rand asks. "Before we start...negotiations."

She opens up a vid-link to his current location; snoozing boredly in the bacta tank.

"He'll be able to walk, soon. Barring any sudden accidents."

Snores loudly in the tank...

"And I trust there won't be any," Rand snarls.

"Now, what is it you want to negotiate with me?"

"Ah come off it!" Rah says in mock disbelief "No security system could be that secret and that good all at the same time..." He takes another sip of his drink.

"Now, what is it you want to negotiate with me?"

"It's a simple transaction. I need your skills in getting something done for me; do it and I will let Galder go and this little scheme of yours doesn't get reported to Vigo. The explosives stay, though- in case you feel like some pointless act of getting your own back on me at some future time."

-

"So the records say," says the man.

"And trust me," says another, "they are as accurate as they can be. Besides, the tablet is still there; if anyone had stolen it there would have been one hell of a fuss. There hasn't been, so no-one has ever gotten it. All we know is, no-one who ever tried was ever seen again"

These guys, of course, are historians, not security men- they can give good info and background, but not details on what the security there is (though they can tell you only the Lantarnans themsevles know the full details... that said, it seems likely that somone else must be involved with maintaining at least SOME of the security.

(Wow...that really sucks...I've turned this into a rescue mission...)

(Galder...I hate you... 😛 )

Teeth clenched, Rand mutters "Name your task...Mistress."

Underneath his robe, he grips his lightsaber out of habit.

"I'll bet thats either a helluva plush job working for top security or a hellishly unstable one!" He grins devilishly "I mean, can you imagine with that level of responsibility and trust on your shoulders, one fu.ck up that could lead to a compromise and.... " He makes a ringing motion with his hands.
"You'd have to be half mad which could mean any number of people around here or very, very good in which case I would assume there's not so many of them" He takes another drink.

terribly sorry...i've been extremely busy....i'll think of something to say to yago tonight
