"10 credits to practice, 100 to play! Take the ultimate challenge!"

"Right..."

Galder forks over ten credits.

(I trust he has enough to practice and then play...Rand, find out how much cash we need!)

"What do I get if I win for playing?"

"Ten thousand credits if you win three rounds in a row!"

You practice or play at your own choice, Rex. Practice isn't just there as a throwaway.

"Not bad..."

Galder will take a practice.

Ok then! Same deal as with Tanic, a blank cgi opponent stands in front of you at the screen, and when the green light goes you must make a quick-draw shot!

-

Rianna, you have now made your way up the vents and emerge lightly out on the top floor, which, as you remember, is considerably more hi-tech looking than the stone of down below.

"Here we go..." Galder mutters, his fingers twitching, ready for the draw.

damn..well. do i feel anything of interest over there?..i'm running out of ideas. something other then that last harry potter if possible.

😂

While you're there, can you pick up my book reservation? '101 Ways to Own the Lantarnans,' I believe...

There have been some analyses of the tablet made over time, Takuan. There isn't much information on how it got there or what it did, but there is info on the object itself.

-

Galder- you roll -1 for a 26. Your opponent fires a 25. Good shot! You drew and fired first.

Round two- and the image changes, becoming somewhat taller and wearing non-descript clothing, you roll a +3 for a 30. Blinding! Your oppnent fires with a 26, and you win again!

Now the opponent changes once more... and looks just like you.

You roll -2 for a 25. Must be off your game! Your opponent's 31 is too fast for you.

"Ohhhh! So close! Still, only a practice run, eh?"

Galder blinks. "What the..." He hands over another ten credits. "I'm taking another practice..."

"Of course! Fire away!"

"Damned right...and why did it look just like me?" he inquires.

This time Galder will look for anything suspicious about the gameplay...

"All part of the immersive experience of the game!"

-2 for a 25. Draw! Shoot again.

-1 for a 26 beats the 25.

But then -2 for a 25 loses to the 26! Damn!

"Such a shame!"

You can't see it being rigged, though the definition might need defining, if that's not a silly thing to say.

It always seems to draw one higher than some other shot, or a recent shot I made...

And there is absolutely no chance to dodge it if it shoots for real?

(When I write this part up in Starkiller II, it'll be nipping at Galder like the remote with Luke... 😛 )

Absolutely none, no.

And I can't sense anything weird behind it or about it?

Nope!

"Hmm..."

Galder will have one more practice run, and if he doesn't become victorious (seeing as I have no understanding of it outsideo of point and shoot), he'll let it lie for now.

Try not to over-complicate. There is no massive mystery behind it.

Your +2 for a 29 beats its 25.

Your +2 for a 29 draws with its 29. Re-shoot!

Your -2 for a 25 loses to its 29.

"Oh, and a good run too!"

Heh, funny.

It's first draw was equal to my last, and vice versa. And then we were even the second round.

Stupid machine...

Any other ways to earn money around here without fighting or gambling?
