Well, let's see, with you liking Return of the Jedi as the best of the classics, that assures me that our tastes are basically opposite, not to mention you find the prequels amazing. I like the prequels but I believe they are nothing compared to the original classics. But I think the first two original movies are actually great movies.
Wow, I am surprised how many of you fans like the new movies better. What a shame. I am a huge movie buff in general, and I believe the original two Star Wars to be great films. I would put them on a top 100 list of all time, not to mention I think they are the best Star Wars films. The prequels I think are entertaining, but full of many many flaws, including they're overuse of CGI to the point where even some of the backgrounds seem fake (I refer to AOTC). I think Episode 3 seems to have improved since. I also love how all you people seem to have Episode 3 already on your lists when it isnt even out yet.
WOW cant believe how high you guys rank AOTC is was a great movie comparded to the movies that came sense OT, and maybe LOTR, but AOTC WAS NOT Star Wars, im not sure why people seemed to like it so much Anakin is NOTHING like we though he wouldve been hes a CRY BABY i understand that lucas didnt want someone like Luke he wanted someone that could portray evel good so for E3 it maybe great, BUT he did nothing in E2 he sat around the hole dam movie begging Padime for some pu**y, we never saw 1 thing about why he would even be considered the chosen one, Anakin was the main character in a soap opera not a action adventure, no matter what Obi did during the movie he couldnt keep me awake through those scenes LOL, we havent seen E3 yet all i can do is base it off E2 and the limited info we have so far E3 looks great but i just dont know. George Lucas said he likes to tell stories visualy so what happed in E2 it was all dialoge not adventure, plus Obi and Ani should of had much more screen time, as far as i can see these to men dont even know each other, they were together like 20 mintues in E2 WTF. If it wasnt for the Clone Wars cartoons on cartoon network, it would still be pretty distant in E3, i love the clone wars they were 20 times more like a SWs movie than AOTC
As far as rating ANH always goes on top not just becasue it was a very fun adventure and just had a great feeling but because it was the first if not for that one than there would of been nothing.

All stories need a good story and there share of slow intimate parts, but the constant repetition of these slow scenes started to slow the movie down, they could have solved this problem by simply have a assination attempt on Padime on Naboo, anything to break the calm.

George Lucas simulates real life. Do you like everyone in real life? Aren't there people that you'd rather walk away from, than talk to? If you don't like anakin, that's fine. In the story of star wars, that's how he is, and you don't have to like him. But it's Star Wars, and it's unsurpassed, just like all the other star wars movies. Now... Revenge of the Sith... that'll be something else entirely.
