Why is Doctor Doom so overrated here?

Lets see, were are talking about Doom only, not about his doombots and his doom army, only Doom himself. he isnt a god, he hasnt cosmic power. He is just a genious in a good armor with knowlegde in magic, science, etc. For that reason, i think that he is so overrated here. He is a great villain , but he cant beat anyone.

Well, you're right, after all, his having done things like power drain the Surfer, Galactus, Watchers and the Beyonder, his having outright conquered Marvel Earth and given it back out of boredom, his having made the Heroes Reborn Earth into his personal fiefdom, having
survived shots from Thanos using the power gem, having caught Captain America's shield mid throw, having killed a lion when unarmed and unarmored, having managed to put one over on Mephisto himself, having immunized himself to Magneto's powers, having built a
time machine, having built devices that let him move around in frozen time, having mastered a technique that lets him switch bodies with targets at will, being considered a legitimate candidate for Sorceror Supreme of the Earth dimension, having succeeded in developing a cure for the Thing's condition, having taken mental attacks from the Overmind and a Purple Man who had enslaved the entire planet, having thrown down in personal combat with Adam Warlock and the Magus...

Yeah, he's very overrated, after all, any smart guy in a nifty armor could do those things.😉

And yeah, doubt about Doom genious and his acces of all kind of forces would be stupid, but really, he isnt that powerful as much people think.

Yeah, that is the point. But all of that is part of the preparation time. As i have said , Doom real power is in his brain, if he hasnt time to use it, he has serious problems.

If doom wanted to create a super suit, he could do it, ovbiousyl he has no reason too.

Yeah, but for one reason or another, he didnt. And we are talking about what he has, not what he could has.

you have to realize that doom is a villain, and in comics the hero always wins in the end.

All those appearances you mentioned aren't all actual Doom appearances, the majority were Doombots. Doom himself has only make a small handful of appearances. He's stomped Spider-Man with ease. He lost to Hulk once, and stopped Hulk cold their next meeting. He talks to the X-Men like children, he can nullify all their powers if needed. Of course he's lost to the Fantastic Four, but that's only because his intellectual equal and rival is on that team, otherwise, they would've been dead ages ago.

True, he's not as powerful as most people think, but he's sure as hell powerful and dangerous enough if Thanos feels he needs to keep a close eye on him.

And, Doom IS more than capable of creating a suit that could use Iron Man as toilet paper, and Tony Stark knows this, but he doesn't really need to. His base suit is convenient enough to deal with most threats.

Wynndar knows a little more on this subject than I do though, along with some others.

remember in the story the end, the only guys who were able to trick the "i don´t remember the name of the egipcian all powerful" was doom and thanos

I agree with you on the fact that Doom is overated. I do have alot of respect for him but I get tired of hearing how he can beat anybody or crap like that. Or if somebody does beat him then they just say oh that was a doombot or some gay defense like that. And its ok for Doom to have prep time but when it comes to Batman having preptime everybody throws a fit.

of course doom can be beat, but yes with prep time he is almost "unstopable" (just a joke with you´re nick), and yes qith prep time he is more dangerous then batman.

Doom isn't overrated. His list of accomplishments, as a human, proves that.

Good one Victor Von Dumb @ss. I am not gonna argue abuout Juggernauts invinciblity. If you read the Juggy threads I dont even hardly post in them. Dooms list of defeats also overwhelms his accomplishments.

The question isn't why he's overrated: it's why he isn't rated higher. And the answer to that is, the scale doesn't climb high enough. He's Doom, 'nuff said.
