Why is Doctor Doom so overrated here?

snoopdogg Doom is the man in the Marvel Universe but in the DCU he is the equivalent to the toothe fairie.

😘 What does DC have? Lex who's become President of the US? Doom owned counter Earth, a whole planet. Brainiac stole Imperiex's powers? Doom stole Galactus' powers than stole Beyonder's powers. He's also stolen a Watcher's power. Darkseid is what now? Maybe Pre-Crisis he was something, but now in he's nothing. Doom would own that New God punk. DC is just another place for Doom to conquer but without in intellectual equilavent to challenge him.

As for doom being overrated, he punked Adam Warlock and knocked him out with a blast from his hand during Infinity Wars. After Magus gave Kang a beating, Doom took him out as well, then came after Magus himself and gave him a dose of his power. He was only seconds away from obtainning the Infinity Gauntlet when LT ruled in favor of overruling his earlier decision - and the gems were able work in unison once more.

Overrated? I guess KOing Warlock, finishing off Kang the Conquerer, and beating The Magus and forcing his hand to give up the Infinity Gauntlet was an overrated feat as well? 🙄

PS. I wish Brian Michael Bendis would stop writing everything in Marvel. I like his books, but I want to read a writer other than him once in a while.

It's gotten to the point where his writing isn't even enjoyable anymore for me. Daredevil, outed! Woop de shit, are you going to resolve this story anytime soon? Because it's honestly just boring now. As is his Ultimate Spider-Man, it's basically Ultimate Guest Stars, with "hyperannoying" dialogue. His run on Ultimate X-Men were a few slapdash scary political stuff, while he introduced his favorite mutant characters, *yawn*. The Pulse is crap. Has Secret War even shipped on time once? Alias was ****ing good but he was so ****ing carried away with his shit all he ever did was have his characters say stuff like "goddamn ****ing shit ass ***** shit ****." Look around long enough you'll find that direct quote. New Avengers is less than underwhelming, and is already slated for late shipping with issue 3. I hope they do give him to DC just in time for his career to take a nosedive and bring the entire company with him, since he'll be writing all of their books.

And what is very stupid is the fact that when doom loose, is a doombot and when he wins , is Victor in person. What a lamest excuse.

When Doom loses in a ridiculous way, that's a Doombot... even during 'Acts of Vengeance' when all the main marvel villains (Kingpin, Red Skull... etc) were teamed together, it was shown that the Doom there was a Doombot.

The Doom the was killed during the Infinity Gauntlet, beaten by Dr Strange for the sorcerer supreme title, beaten narrowly by The Magus... that was the real Doom.

i think doom is pretty overrated at times in the VS forum

During the Acts of Vengeance also, Magneto once lamented that Doom created "other selves" of himself to feel more superior when he was doing a comparison of Doom and Red Skull's incessant need to make robots in their likeness.

Well I like and respect Dr. Doom cause he constantly goes out of his way to accomplish goals that are way beyond his means. Sometimes he succeeds, sometimes he doesn't, but you can't fault him for trying. He's crafty as hell, and is one of the most resourceful villains in the MU. I like to think of him as a small-scale version of Thanos. If he had anywhere near the power Thanos has, he'd be a cosmic villain as well.

Remember "Marvel:The End"? Only Doom would have the balls to attempt what he did...even though he made a gross miscalculation against Akhenatan, (or whatever his name was), it was no surprise that only he was able to come up with a plan as devious and diabolical as that.

Gotta give the man the respect he deserves.

If Doom has beaten so many great heroes, why can't he beat the FF? I also remember someone mentioning that Doom beat Dr. Strange, and that is just a bunch of crap (IMO).

Comics would be better if they had a little more consistency regarding characters' powers and abilities.

i agree with both kharmadog and Lord S, dr. doom is a character who's definitely made some people look at an archenemy in a stronger way, he's the only archenemy i've ever seen with an amazing amount of power that goes beyond just the ff and can affect alot of other heroes or villains, but at the same time i do think he should either be toned down or beat the ff...and im not saying ff are a weak group, i mean they've gone up against galactus which not all superhero teams could do, but it kinda doesnt fit in with dr. dooms "marvel: the end" stuff

What you're trying to say, is that Doom has shown that he should have beaten the FF seven ways from sunday by now, yet he still hasn't. Much like Magneto, he shows seven sorts of badassness when fighting everyone except his archenemies, where he ends up looking like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.
