We don't have to be silly about it, but Wolverine is much stronger then a normal human. He would definitely defeat a typical Predator in a standard fight.
We've seen Wolverine get clipped by a jet in midair, and instead of flying apart like a normal human he gets back up and duels an android on its back. He's thrown a bullfighter's sword through the cockpit of a low-flying Stuka divebomber and shishkebabbed the pilot. Dammit, he's a super hero.
Many of the Predator's weapons (it's speargun, the discus) are designed around a clean decapitation or the removal of limbs. Both are impossible due to Wolverine's adamantium skeleton. Even if the Predator's weapons are adamantium (something I doubt since the metal is a unique property of Marvel), adamantium cannot cut through more adamantium.
As for fighting skills: sure, the Predator is stronger and faster then a normal human (though not by leaps and bounds, he would never make it into the Justice League). However, consider a scene from one of Wolverine's earlier adventures: he's sitting at a bar, enjoying a drink, when a firing squad of Yakuza storm the tavern from behind and fire at the seated Wolverine's back. He's out of his seat and ducking behind the counter even before they've started firing, and this is with a few shots in him. The point: Wolverine is much faster then an average human, on par with Captain America in speed (who is superior to any Olympic Athlete who ever performed.)
And don't forget his martial arts training. Wolverine is believed to have first trained in the martial arts sometime in the 1930s, under Kenjutsu Master Ogun in Japan. Since then, he's been an active practioner of the Martial arts. Think about that: 74 years of martial arts training, and because of his healing factor, Wolverine is still at his physical peak.
Of course, besides his healing, his sense of smell will also probably negate the Predator's camoflauge (in fairness, the Predator's thermal vision would likewhise negate Wolverine's considerable stealth abilities.)
Even if the Predator has the good sense to attack from downwind, and uses his energy cannon, Wolverine has taken worse blows from Cyclops's visor and gotten right up.
But the Predator, showing the hubris of his species, would probably want to fight Wolverine in melee once he learns the Son of Canada wields not but a brace of nine-inch claws. If it's a novice Predator (yautja), then this will be over in two slices. A master Predator would be able to give Wolverine a much better fight, and with his variety of weapons (spear, razor-net, claw) might be able to keep the Canuck off-balance for at least a while. However, Wolverine has two key advantages: his healing factor will keep him going right through an otherwise lethal wound (admittedly the Predator can keep fighting after massive damage as well), and two, his superhuman fortitude. Wolverine will keep fighting at peak performance long after the Predator (even a master) begins to tire.
None but the most skilled hunter could challenge the Son of Canada, dig.
Wolverine wouldnt even know he was being hunted. He would pick up a strange scent, not knowing the alien essence, he would have a hole burned through his chest by a shoulder cannon while looking around tryng to pin point where the smell was comming from.
If it's a what if comic, it will be a two page comic, leading to Wolverines death. If it's Just a regular VS match, predator loses of course, but not due to being out matched, just out sold in popularity.

first of all predators are grunting bastards which wolvie would hear, second he wouldn't be able to tell waht predator is from its smell, but can tell its bigger than a roach and approaching him WITH intent to kill (thats only if predators produce pheromones, i dont see why they wouldnt if they enjoy the thrill of the hunt so much) and besides that would the master predator have the acid scarring on his face? if so then thats something else wolvie would smell and obviously notice this isnt some over-grown roach
Just because Wolverine can smell the Predator, does not mean that he would win. Who gives a shit if he can smell him, this may allow him to know the general area of where the predator is, but he still wouldnt be able to see it. The predators weaponry, fighting and hunting skills are mastered so well, they can do many different things at one time. The predaor's weapons are designed for individual purposes so that they can use more than one weapon at a time. there weapons are to much for Wolverine to contend with. while a shoulder cannon is locking onto wolverine, a net is being fired off towards him followed by an air blade. I am not saying that Wolverine couldnt compete with all of this for a while, but it will keep him from getting close to the predator. The only chance for Wolverine to win, is by getting close to utilize his weapons.
Even then the predator are far more efficient killing machines.They also carry side arm blades that could possibly cut through wolverines adamantium claws. they are bigger, stronger,faster , more intelligent, and have more in their arsenal. the only way Wolverine wins, is if he can get close enough for a beserker barrage, if he can do this, he will be looking down at the peices of the predator.
i was saying that wolvie would smell him not to win the fight, but to have a heads-up......you know how some people said earlier that predator would take wolverine by surprise which is completely un-true
seeing as you have to give predator a complete arsenal of weapons just to "beat" wolvie (which it wont, if anyone can remember a character named Post) then i think thats enough to say wolvie would completely cremate a predator in no time flat

Actually Predator has a big stregth advantage seeing as how in Batman vs Predator, Predator was carrying the Bat signal with one hand. I dont know who is a better fighter but im going with Predator since he was pretty much playing with Batman.
wolverine has gone against the hulk IN HIS FIRST APPEARANCE, who could pick up the bat signal, crumble it up and eat it, sure wolvie's never won against the hulk but he held his ground, and hulks healing factor is superior to wolverines.....predator has a healing factor?
anyway, nothing ever specifies how strong the predators metal is, so as for now i think adamantium would be the superior metal here

You claim that i am the one who has no knowledge on these characters, and know nothing about Wolverine outside of the movies. I believe it is more so the other way around. you obviously know NOTHING about the Predator outside of movies.
Allow me to pick your bullshit apart. The Predators side arm blades is a foreign substance to Earth. It is obviously a type of steel, but Far far superior than any type of steel that We have on Earth. Adamntium is the strongest substance on Earth, and if there steel is far superior, then it is quite plausible that there blades could make wolvie's adamantium look like a child's project.
You say that the Predator are not smarter, stronger or faster than Wolverine Only bigger. This obviously shows that you know nothing about the Predator. The Predator are far more intelligent than Wolverine, this isnt even arguable. I would like to see wolverine understand space travel at the speed of light and construct weaponry using technology far beyond humanities understanding.
As for being faster, Yes they are faster, There has been a time where A Predator was running at fifty miles an hour, keeping up with a land speeder. They also have fierce agility, Out maneuvering Aliens who have lightning fast agility, shows that there agility cannot be dismissed.
There strength is a threat, it may not be equivalent to superhuman Strength, but is far greater than human strength. You also say that Wolverine would be the one hunting, Well that is just crazy to believe. the predator travel the Universe hunting lifeforms of all species. This is what they do , nd know above all else. I highly doubt there is a character in Marvel or DC universe that could match the hunting abilities of the predator. The predator would also be able to study Wolverine before engaging in combat. you say that The predator getting into range would be near impossible, but the thing is, they don't have to get into range, Wolverine is the one that would have to get into range of the predator. Seeing how they can leap 30 feet in the air from a standing position, run and maneuver at varying speeds, shows that the Pred has the supreme advantage. I am a true fan of Wolverine, but i cannot dismiss the overwhelming advantage the Predator have in this bout.
adamantium is from a comic book, i think when predator speaks of the strongest metals on EARTH, it means in real life, not on earth in the marvel universe...........

What the hell are you talking about? Predator is a damn comic book. True it is more realistic, but is still a comic book. So It has as much credibility as any other comic book. Why do you assume i know nothing about Wolverine? I know nearly everything there is to know about Wolverine. I even know his past before he was weapon X which many people do not know about. The past that shows what a whiny b.itch he was. YOU OBVIOUSLY know nothing about the predator. Yeah Predator was a movie first, but has grossed more popularity,following and money as comics and novels than the movies have. So this fact shows that the Predator comics have as much validity as any other comic character. ON Earth. the predators intelligence and technology is far superior than humanities understanding which leans the argument that their steel is more powerful than adamantim for their favor. Wolveriens blades can Peirce any substance on Earth aside from other forms of Adamantium, or foreign substances to Earth.
