Yea I hate the idea of this force creating shit, I bet Shmi just slept around and didnt want to tell Qui-Gon
Anyhow Vader could kill him, Anakin nope, no way.

Darth Vader since he's more important to the series.

What if this was taken out of the series and we would just look at there abilitys, what then Quan.

I'd like to say that the relevance of the versus matches become moot if you keep tying this destiny/prophecy/he's more popular/ he's important to the series crap in with your answers, guys. No wonder Mace Windu is losing even though I am very certain of his superiority in this match. Vader could be the chosen one, he could be Darth Christ, and he's still a rather lackluster and substandard fighter with minimal experience as opposed to Jedi -Master- Windu who is an amazing badass.

OK, I have a lot to say here, so bear with me…

Why do so many people think Vader is so powerful? He is NOT!!! I have said this a million times and I honestly don’t want to repeat it again, but since this common and understandable fact just can’t seem to go through some people’s heads, I have no choice but to repeat it again: Vader in the suit is MUCH weaker than Anakin in ROTS! This is confirmed by Lucas. It makes sense too since he lost more than half his body and the suit greatly increased his weight and reduced his agility.

The reason why Darth Vader is so feared by the time the OT comes is because he is the only visible Force User. All the Jedi are wiped out, and Obi-Wan and Yoda (the only two Jedi who survived the Jedi genocide) were both hiding and completely cut themselves off from the rest of the galaxy. The Emperor is also at his throne room doing absolutely nothing. Other than that, no one else can compare with Vader, because all Vader has to do is choke them or something.

When Vader encountered with Obi-Wan in ANH, like Vader himself, Obi-Wan was also considerably weaker than he was in the prequels because he hadn’t really practiced his powers for some twenty years. When they fought, Vader didn’t really seem to gain an upper hand and Vader didn’t defeat Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan gave in. It automatically took the air out of that knockout blow. When Vader fought Luke in ESB, Luke only had a few days of training and I admit that at first, Vader was toying with Luke, but after underestimating Luke for a while, Luke lands a blow on Vader’s shoulder. Vader therefore got serious and cut Luke’s hand off, that IMO was the only battle he actually won, which really isn’t that impressive. But when he faces of against Luke in ROTJ, he got OWNED!! Big Time! And please don’t say “Oh, Vader was holding back and let Luke beat him”! That is a pure conjecture. Why did The Emperor want Luke SO badly? Because he knew Luke could take down Vader. Vader was much past his prime time because of the suit, while Luke was only a young force user capable of great potentials. Think about how screwed the Rebels would be if Luke could be converted. Why did Yoda say “No more training, do you require” when it was obvious that Luke was no where NEAR completing his training? Because Yoda, too, knew that Luke, despite his lack of training, was capable of defeating Vader. And while they were fighting, I think it was Luke that was holding back. Luke kept stopping the fight and Vader kept starting it again. When Vader mentioned Leia, that was when Luke really tried. And when he did, He completely owned his daddy, you could tell because when Luke was jabbing at Vader with all his might, Vader was completely confused, he had no idea what to do. He missed parry after parry, and ended up getting his hand chopped off. He was lucky that Luke still had poor aim, otherwise he would have been wasted earlier than that. Plus, after the battle, Vader was breathing like he ran a marathon, while Luke seemed to be breathing perfectly fine.

So honestly, you Vader fans are saying he is powerful because he is cooler, or has a better reputation, not because of his actual power and skill. Darth Janus is 100% correct. Reputation and importance to the series has absolutely nothing to do with how powerful someone is.

Despite how much I agreed with the post previous by Jedi Master, no doubt those from the other camp will protest. What fun...

lol, how right you are...

A thought occured to me. If Vader was so techinically inclined, would he not be able to modify his suit to make himself a more effecient warrior? I mean, we all know that there's still many Jedi he had to hunt down between episodes 3 and 4. According to the words of Yoda, Luke is the last of the Jedi in ROTJ, therefore I am assuming(as many others have and it kinds says so) that Vader hunted most of them down. So in all reality I think vader would win, but he would definately get hit a few times to make him angry, then he would finally finish Windu off.

Luke was never the last of the Jedi, he was the first of the new. But that is an interesting point... Vader could work with machines very well. Why did he have such a crappy suit?

Well, we can just suspend all logic(like you have to for Star Wars anyway) and just assume that Vader is still reasonably hardass. I mean, I have always argued that although Luke is not as trained, he could still hold his own(for a while at least) against more trained and skilled warriors.

And Master Yoda's direct words are, "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be."

This -is- the Expanded Universe section, right?

Yes, it is. I was browsing through the database the other night. It was listed there that Luke is later on informed that he is not the last of the old Jedi Order but rather the first of the new. It was there, in black text. Their words, not mine nor Yoda's.

Besides, Eu takes liberties with the storyline as does the games. Otherwise, Vader -would- be the strongest Jedi because he'd be the only one of his time.

Well, you're right is EU.
Still though, the fact is the force (both sides IMHO) are keeping Anakin/Vader alive to fufill his destiny, so unless Sidious was dead, I'm going to say Vader.

OOk lets just review a little, Vader killed: The Dark Woman
He killed Darth Maul
He kills at least 30 Bounty Hunters well with the Help of Boba but who cares.

He is strong, at least in the EU and this is the EU if I recall right isn'T it.

He could beat Windu. This is not for sure of course, since windu is one of the best sword fighters...but none the less it is more than just possible.

OK, how about this?

Those who think Vader will win, then so be it. Since they never actually fought, it is impossible to tell. All these are based solely on opinion and speculation.

No seriously, I never saw it that way...I always thought I was totally right 🙄

We all think we are right! And since we are unable to convince others, what's the point? I'm trying to provide some sort of a compromisation.

Compromise! BOOO!

Oi... Silence, you children. You'll wake baby Anakin in the next room. He has a battle with Samule L.... er... Windu in about twenty years.

NO SILENCE! VADER KILLS ALL!
