Darth Vader vs. Mace Windu

Uh, actually he doesn't. He couldn't lift a finger to touch Grand Moff Tarkin. He sure wasn't able to Force crush Alderaan. And he can't even touch his toes in that suit. He's due for an AARP card in a few months, and he's forgotten just how hard it is to keep up in battle when you are artificially breathing. Poor bastard.

lol, noice.
Vader still wins though dude. He's made too much money for Lucas lol

Ah, I get it. Vader simply hires bounty hunters to do all his killing. Yeah, I change my bet in that case. Have every bounty hunter in Nar Shadaa after your ass because of ol' Vader and it's over.

OR he just hops into his custom tie fighter and beats ass in the sky.

Vader: The Force is strong with this one. Better use the target lock.

Mace: Man, where can a brother get him some duds around this backwater planet?

Vader: I have you now.

Mace: Is that a bird? A plane? No, it's an old man in a TIE fighter. Damn!

Dude, just picture the scene in pulp fiction where samuel l kills brett at the beginning, only imagine vader in the seat

What does MAster Yoda look like?

lmao... wow. Excelleny imagery.

obviously vader

OK, I have a lot to say here, so bear with me…

Why do so many people think Vader is so powerful? He is NOT!!! I have said this a million times and I honestly don’t want to repeat it again, but since this common and understandable fact just can’t seem to go through some people’s heads, I have no choice but to repeat it again: Vader in the suit is MUCH weaker than Anakin in ROTS! This is confirmed by Lucas. It makes sense too since he lost more than half his body and the suit greatly increased his weight and reduced his agility.

The reason why Darth Vader is so feared by the time the OT comes is because he is the only visible Force User. All the Jedi are wiped out, and Obi-Wan and Yoda (the only two Jedi who survived the Jedi genocide) were both hiding and completely cut themselves off from the rest of the galaxy. The Emperor is also at his throne room doing absolutely nothing. Other than that, no one else can compare with Vader, because all Vader has to do is choke them or something.

When Vader encountered with Obi-Wan in ANH, like Vader himself, Obi-Wan was also considerably weaker than he was in the prequels because he hadn’t really practiced his powers for some twenty years. When they fought, Vader didn’t really seem to gain an upper hand and Vader didn’t defeat Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan gave in. It automatically took the air out of that knockout blow. When Vader fought Luke in ESB, Luke only had a few days of training and I admit that at first, Vader was toying with Luke, but after underestimating Luke for a while, Luke lands a blow on Vader’s shoulder. Vader therefore got serious and cut Luke’s hand off, that IMO was the only battle he actually won, which really isn’t that impressive. But when he faces of against Luke in ROTJ, he got OWNED!! Big Time! And please don’t say “Oh, Vader was holding back and let Luke beat him”! That is a pure conjecture. Why did The Emperor want Luke SO badly? Because he knew Luke could take down Vader. Vader was much past his prime time because of the suit, while Luke was only a young force user capable of great potentials. Think about how screwed the Rebels would be if Luke could be converted. Why did Yoda say “No more training, do you require” when it was obvious that Luke was no where NEAR completing his training? Because Yoda, too, knew that Luke, despite his lack of training, was capable of defeating Vader. And while they were fighting, I think it was Luke that was holding back. Luke kept stopping the fight and Vader kept starting it again. When Vader mentioned Leia, that was when Luke really tried. And when he did, He completely owned his daddy, you could tell because when Luke was jabbing at Vader with all his might, Vader was completely confused, he had no idea what to do. He missed parry after parry, and ended up getting his hand chopped off. He was lucky that Luke still had poor aim, otherwise he would have been wasted earlier than that. Plus, after the battle, Vader was breathing like he ran a marathon, while Luke seemed to be breathing perfectly fine.

So honestly, you Vader fans are saying he is powerful because he is cooler, or has a better reputation, not because of his actual power and skill. Darth Janus is 100% correct. Reputation and importance to the series has absolutely nothing to do with how powerful someone is.

wow i gotta say you persuaded me but EU Vader is made it to be better then orignal vader. EU vader in pics seems to be more agile.
SO
Mace Windu > Darth Vader
Mace Windu < EU Darth Vader

Oh, you were talking about EU Vader. Then I guess Vader stands a better chance. That would be a pretty cool fight, much better than the original Vader vd. Mace.

First of all; This proves that Vader can only be defeated by either sidious or luke. It in no way says though that Vader is a weak fighter. Vader kills many Jedi after the events of Ep 3 take place. Vader also is second in force ability after Sidious. He is weakend by the lava but is still very powerful. He is the most feared man in the galaxy during the original trilogy. The force had given him the upper hand in every fight up until he fights his son. Vader is powerful because of the darkside.

Dude, Vader had his ass handed to him by a half-trained boy, I don't think he will stand a chance if he fought a powerful, full-fledged Jedi Master.

Wrong. Anakin is the chosen one. He is very adept at using the force. When he taps into the dark side there are maybe only three people that could oppose him, Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan, and Sidious. Darth Vader is a good fighter and a person that obviously both sides wanted. Yoda wanted to train Anakin while Sidous wanted him as his sidekick. He must be good if Sidious wants him in the first place. In the movie, when Mace confronts the emperor spoiler* he fights the emperor who starts losing and anakin steps in and evens up the fight. Anakin then kills Mace. Mace is a powerful Jedi no doubt but could not fight Vader by himself and still win. IMO

The reason why I posted the really long thread was because I was annoyed by people saying Vader will win because he is cooler/he is more popular/he has a better reputation and other nonsense like that. Speiderman, you have a pretty good point, so I respect your opinion. But IMO, I think Mace has a chance of beating Vader. Won't be easy, but I still think he can.

Ok. I am willing to see other points. It would be a good fight nonetheless to witness. Imagine what objects would be force thrown!

I know eh? They should probably make a comic book dedicated to that fight.

I hate godamn spoilers

I think Mace would win but it wouldn't be an instant win. Ithink mech vader is being underestimated. i think he would hold his own for a while but mace ould eventually win.

Mace would lost a hard fought battle in my opinion. And Luke managed to win because Vader's heart was trying to tear him from the darkside, which made him grow weaker. And Luke was slashing at him pretty wildly.

VADER WINS EASILY

He wins easily, huh? Just how easy we talking here?
