you cant just shed it like a snake sheds skin. and i will submit that american history on a grade school level is riddled with bullshit and pro-government propaganda (from my day anyway, perhaps its all different now). in HS (some) and college however, i learned much of the darkside of american history. i am not ashamed as a result, but feel enlightened. america has plenty of skeletons in it's closet and everyone knows it. so do most other nations. you french? check out what napolian did to the spanish. you spanish? check out how the spanish brutalised the natives of south america.
so dont think its just "bash on the germans"

Well I took Us History AP in HS so well, and thats exactly true
But I cant really argue It was just not germany as it is today I am sorry Now we are the Federal Republich back then we were more of an empire The Third you know Different countries.

you misunderstand me yersott.
as i stated before, i think persecution of germany is wrong. at the same time though, germany cant simply shed its history and pass the buck to an ideal. most of our homelands are guilty of horrible crimes at one point and we must accept them. simple as that.
and as for wounded knee, i hope americans never forget the crimes against humanity commited on this soil. that does NOT suggest feeling guilty.
...as it was military at the time which carried out the systematic genocide of native americans. its not MY fault!!! but america as a whole cannot wash it's hands of it. to do so would be denial. same for germany.
i will say one more time: germans should not feel guilt for the holocaust. NONE AT ALL. (unles any SS troops are still alive, in which case THEY should feel guilty) but its part of german history, like it or not. time, ideals, and titles dont change a thing.
