I see Green Day for exactly what they are, which is probably why I've never seen a reason to dislike them.

The only people bitter about Green Day being associated with punk are silly kids who thought they were a punk band in the first place. They're a rock band with heavy pop sensibilities.

I was kind of joking, but the success of all there albums after Dookie wasn't even close to what they made with Dookie.

Yeah, true.

I still don't get how they just like exploded in between Warning and American Idiot, their fan base had gone back down to like 7 when they put out Warning (not saying it's a bad album, but not a lot of people liked it).
