the U.S. is still a Democracy my friend.
Personally, I don't think that we as americans take our duties to vote as seriousally as we should.
I mean, my sister-in-law almost didn't even register to vote (and had never registered prior to this election) a friend of mine didn't vote as he didn't want to vote for Obama, but couldn't bring himself to vote for Palin (Even thoug she was running for Vice-president, many people I know didn't vote because they were too lasy to get off their fat asses and drive down to the nearest polling location!
And most of these people are the most vocal complainers about whats going on now.
I mean, in Athens (A TRUE democracy) they had punishments for people who didn't vote... well... a mark of shame atleast...
And as for the people who do vote, I just find it slightly interesting that most people don't even seem to have an intrest in the person we are voting for's policies or anything like that. We vote for the person we'd rather have a force-beer with...
anyway, I'm ranting again... need to stop that... BARTENDER! FORCE-BEER HERE!
