*sigh* never been to a prom. stupid high school - they said proms... er, "worldly". we had a stupid "grad ball" - with only some sorta choreographed cottilion.. didn't even have a partner who I liked. it was almost banned even - said we people were dancing "too close" to each other. wth?!couldn't even play drums - until we students pushed and pushed...
I'm glad to be outta that school. Freedom! I'm a Christian, but, that is just too much. O.o
as am I (I even go to a baptist church, though I couldn't really call myself a baptist) but I do agree, that is alittle preposterous.
I went to my highschool's prom and had a blast. Didn't have a girlfriend at the time, and barely danced at all, I just walked around in my brown tux and Indiana Jones style Fadora, and just talked to people.
that + JP's comments tells me that I need to go watch Star Trek. How awesome is it?
It really was good. It is the Star Wars fan's Star Trek movie, but it didn't leave the Star Trek fans standing in the rain. And it was great for people like me who have been fans of both for a very long time, because it had the action and excitement of Star Wars while paying great homage to the original Star Trek series. I haven't seen a Star Trek movie that I liked that much since Wrath of Kahn.
that sounds really interesting... hope it comes out here, too.
I have never read a Michael Crichton book that I did not like. There is one I haven't finished yet, but I got into a really good series while I was reading that one that I haven't been able to finish yet.
He wrote many stories that were instant classics like Jurassic Park, and The Lost World. I really think that movies based on his books never do the original story justice though. Jurassic Park was an exelent movie in it's own right, but when you compare it to the book... it just sucks. The Lost World wasn't a good movie (The T-Rex in San Diego just seemed pointless and stupid) but the book was simply AMASING!
Congrats JP! 😉
Right i'm gonna make an effort to go to the movies this summer (Yep, it's been a year since i last went 😖) I think no. 1 on my list will be Star Trek and i need to watch Angels & Demons - and i'm not just watching it because i went to the Vatican last year either 😛 Can anyone recommend any others to look out for?

Star Trek is awesome, and Transformers is looking good. Harry Potter looks like it will satisfy the mainstream, but may disappoint the fans. Ice Age looks pretty funny, and I don't really know anything about Public Enemies, but the name sounds cool.
I WANNA SEE STAR TREK!!!
I WANNA SEE TRANSFORMERS!!!
harry potter is shit...
Ige Age looks kinda alright...second one was alright, first was great. They've gotta watch out or they'll over do it and kill their audience

First was great, second was ok. Third looks to be beter than second, but they won't beat the first. Same with Toy Story 3, It'll probably be beter than 2 (which was allright) but will never EVER touch the first movie, that is a classic.
And as for Harry Potter, the movies are meh, but the books are good.

Public Enemies is about John Dillinger. Johnny Depp plays him.

Looks good, I'm gonna have to go see that one too.
i don't like the HP series at all, books films cups etc.
When LotR came out, it was an original idea, sure the idea of tall white wizards and small people intermingling was an already explored idea, but Tolken was a good author and story creator...
When JK came along, she toyed with an idea used and used again...it just bored the **** out of me

Now see, I love the movies and hate the books. 😂
See, I usually like books better than movies period, unless the book is based on the movie.
Jurassic Park? Book is better.
The Lost World? Book. Though the book and the movie have absolutely nothing incommon except the names of... 3 characters... and the name of the Island. Nope, No T-rex roaming around San-Deigo in the book.
Andromida Strain? Book.
Timeline, Frankenstein... Books kick the movies asses.
Beowulf. Hell the book is a Poem and it is still vastly superior to that disgraceful movie.
Books usually have so much more depth that movies just can't even begin to touch.
